no to upgrade on brakes, spend a spring day cleaning what you have, get the wheels off (repair the rubber gaitors again probably) pressure wash the inner wheel arches, and clean the back of those wheels, clean the brake discs, and make the hidden bits of the car look good, you will feel better...

but as you know, the wheel assembly is simply hub with bearings, and brake, so it has to be one or the other, the bearing are the cheapest option, so start with that and good luck
the rubber gaitors are always coming loose and loosing grease, buy new bearings and replace them on both sides this weekend, repack the grease and get those gaitior clips tight.
I have had my clio 9 years, my kids are 6 & 8, I have always argued a three door is safer as the kids will climb in the passenger side door, away from the traffic, I have replaced the passenger seat runner once. the seats fold enough to get a baby seat in and out,

I have always assumed it because they know it is/was a £15000 car that has just over taken their 3 series, A5 etc that cost £30000, and this annoys them, the worst one I had was an ginger ST focus. he was livid.
Yes the general thought is, they add weight, they look cool, and if fitted professionally may strengthen the front end, but it is also agreed they are not really necessary. an updated ARB again fitted correctly may also help.

As much as I search this site, most agree renew the sachs, however some must be running something as good if not better, I personally would want to sacrifice comfort for cornering ability. but nowhere do i see that anything is better than a refurb, and hence the dilemma, its because the sachs...
