The time has come to sell my Trophy that I have loved owning this past 3 years. Not something I am particularly excited about if I’m honest as I saw myself keeping it forever, but here I am. The car is kept garaged...
Looked into this problem on my old 172 and as far as I'm aware you cant just replace the glove box door without replacing the whole lower dash. Somebody may know different but pretty sure thats the case.
I think you need to ring and book as some people have been given longer waits than others. Had my letter this morning, says about the £95 charge so I'm assuming mine has been done somewhere in the past according to the long thread on Clio Sport.
Mine has always popped up properly when you pull...
Sorted earlier tonight. In case anybody else is wondering its the 6 screws (2 either end and two in the middle) and then two clips in the middle. Just unscrew all screws and gently pull each end of the spoiler directly upwards and they will pop out. Took 2 minutes. Cheers
I've read that taking the spoiler off is a pain but I can't fix the brake light without doing so as far as I know. Does anybody have any experience I can take advice from to avoid breaking anything on the spoiler.
Cheers,
As above really. My nearside was knackered and the piston would actually drop under its own weight when off the car (lots of sloshing around as above too) Also, I think the external reservoir would sit closer to the "bridge" that connects it to the main damper body as opposed to the 3/4mm gap...
^ Looking forward to this as the cost of a refurb at BG can go up fast. The only thing is what happens if you need new shafts or reservoirs etc? I thought BG were the only place with the replacement parts easily available? Or have I missed something?
Lol is that a way of saying we don't have a clue what we're on about? Only kidding. I am hopefully able to drive a another trophy near me after talking with another owner at work to compare. As kev mentioned, I don't want to get lost messing about and end up chasing my tail. Like my old 172 the...
Good work Jon. It is nice to hear that after the fear of no more dampers being produced that there is an answer. The fact they seem to be an evolution of the standard items is a bonus.
I agree Kev, feel is all very subjective. It definitely sounds like my characteristics are normal as suspected which is good. I would be inclined to agree with Allan that toe in would cause a more lazy steering action as the fronts are essentially driving towards each other where as toe out they...
Thanks guys. Rubens, the car has been given slight toe out but nothing extreme and unchanged standard camber. The car turns in great as a result and nearly all severe torque steer and searching/wandering even under power has all but gone. Would you guys say that what I have described is...
Can somebody please report back on the following:
Driving straight ahead at 60+ MPH using small movements of the wheel around the centre is there much "feel/feedback"? I have had lots of work done on curing a wandering/tramlining problem which is now sorted and the handling/steering feel is now...
Hi All,
I would really like some help with this if anybody is willing. My car has had its acoustic valve and the attached cold air feed removed (leaving the hole in the side of the box) I am trying to figure out what I need to get it all back (inc acoustic valve) to standard.
So far I know...
Couple of inches play will almost certainly mean a refurb is in order. I have just got my dampers back from BG on Thursday and fitted them yesterday and there is zero movement from human pressure (only the movement in the tyre)
No extra info on the car but some tips: Do a basic check of the dampers by bouncing the car from the top of the headlight. If it bounces on either corner, the shocks are going to need some attention. Circa £500 for that so just got to be carefull otherwise it could end up costing alot more than...
