I rarely look at for sale/auction adverts but 14 owners on this one jumped out. Is that fairly unsurprising in 20 years, or do you think it would put people off?

Took a trip to BG today to pick up my refurbished dampers. Some time ago I was gifted a pair of the clear plastic adjuster covers, which I put somewhere “safe”. Can I find them? I don’t suppose anyone has a spare pair they could either post or bring to Wales for me, pretty please? Tim

Alex runs AW Motorworks in Great Bardfield. Mick runs Diamond Motors in Long Eaton nr Nottingham. I’ve not used them personally but if I was closer I’d have absolutely no hesitation to use either based on the reviews I’ve read of their work.

ET38.5 is the offset for the 172 Cup. Trophy offset is ET45 I think. Still a good option though without adding spacers. It’s been a while since I’ve bought some new wheels… damn you Nick 😜

Isn’t it like anything? If you want it, you decide if the price is worth paying or not. And in making that decision you’d also have to consider the availability/supply of the exact product you desire and the ease of purchasing it, vs alternatives which might be close but not an exact match...

A couple of Trophys spotted at the RenaultSport Wiltshire meet at Podium Place, alongside an M3 CSL, GT3 RS, NSX and a few other equally nice cars. @Crookster - was one of them 278?

You’re not wrong, it’s a classic. One of my favourites is the stretch between Forge just outside Machynlleth, south east to Llanidloes. It’s such a varied 18 miles that’s equally good in both directions, with awesome views along the way.

I wonder if the person who lost out on #001 is in the hunt for this one? If so, this could go on for a bit. Pass me the Pinot Capsicum

Lovely idea, I’m all for it. I wouldn’t take any out, but I’d add the one in (perhaps September) of multiple reds at the Elan Valley. Loads of us have got that same shot but maybe @SharkyUK has the best original image?

We all love our Trophys but how many of us crave the true OEM look? Generously let’s call it 10% of 500. Then look at non-Trophys and I can’t imagine another 50 owners would be interested, these are after all an incredibly talented hot hatch but at the budget end of the market where most folks...

Selling the car on behalf of a friend, the car is in NI and payment to be made via bank transfer… that would put me off a little.

I used to be with Greenlight, now with Keith Michaels, always insured on an agreed value policy.

Some alternatives for consideration… ARM in Newbury. Andy Reid was a Renault master tech with decades of experience and often has a Trophy (or few) in the workshop. He used to run a Megane coupe with F4R and Sadev sequential box, alongside his 205 rally car. Great guy. Select Motorsport in...

I’m on some dreadful groups where I question whether any members have a double-digit IQ, but this is a lovely place to be. Perhaps it’s the limited numbers, perhaps the desirability of the “Trophy experience” that brings pure and like-minded individuals. I know many friendships have started here...
