Thanks for the positive feedback gents. It's certainly causing some anxiety at the moment - throw in the cost of living and it's becoming increasingly hard to justify. A decision needs to be made for sure. Yet the car keeps teasing me with little moments that make me smile. It's like having a...
For anyone interested, here is the latest update I've published on my car. Another costly one I'm afraid and some reflection is needed

As an owner, life is too short to worry. I'd rather have the adventures in the memory bank. I've never understood the pride in having the lowest mileage car in the owners club or on the forum. In my experience, a super low mileage car is just as likely - if not more - than a car in constant use...
Assuming it was from the Destination Nurburgring trackday I was there (not in my car). The Trophy in question belonged to the owner of Harris Classics. We had a chuckle about his comment that even on the sighting laps he was going flat out and still holding up the GT3's warming up and going...
I have a set of MF Koni adjustables stored that I'd be willing to part with. However they're in need of a refurb, but no doubt cheaper than new at circa £300 each from Kam racing...unless I've got my wires crossed? When I refresh I'll likely go with std Cup dampers
Rather ashamed to say I've just done the same. The cost of living is biting and I only need two tyres - at up to £600 for the untested Conti PC6 is too much of a stretch right now
Bit of a thread revival but I've always thought my Trophy's braking to be subpar. It's not so bad for day-to-day driving, but a hard emergency stop just isn't as strong as I'd like. I know the rears basically do nothing, but I've replaced the callipers, alongside new OE discs (rear) and Brembo...
Very much this. The Panda is fun in the same way driving a golf buggy in a silly manner is. A precision machine it is not, but it will make you smile. @photo_ed I believe they are the same platform, just the Abarth weighs more and has much bigger alloys and tyres...more of the same, trading ride...
I bought a fuel hose from euros, made an incision with a Stanley knife and attached it the the ends of the parcel shelf. Works a treat and completely hidden when the boot is shut
The want is real, as coming from a 200 and GR Yaris before that, I do find the 182 somewhat lacking in the braking department. Sadly the bank account is tapped out.
There are some VERY tempting 0% deals on them at the moment!
5k down, £414/month (albeit 5k annual mileage - if you want 10k its 7k down and £599/month for the GT)
Also been told the seats aren't the best in the GT, but its the one I'd want
I'm sorry I didn't see this earlier. Happy to use any Rush images for the project if it helps - Feb is one of ours that's made it onto Wikimedia so I can supply the full-res image
Short answer is the Yaris is 100x times more capable and more impressive. But the Clio is more fun, and more expressive.
Bad rhyming aside, I never felt truly 'connected' to the Yaris. Don't get me wrong, those "wow" moments Kris talks about in the review are genuine. The sheer strength of the...
Guilty as charged! Thank you for sharing @photo_ed
Two completely different ways of taking on Bowland's narrow, bumpy roads. As a former GR owner myself, you can't go wrong with either, and whilst I'm not a fan of the aesthetics of the dashboard on the forthcoming car, I do appreciate the...
Thank you very much for the kind words all, really pleased you enjoyed the article. It has been generating a lot of positive response and goodwill. Tbh, the plan (as I alluded to) in the article was to have a small estate car by now, however, like the majority of us no doubt, the cost of living...
Happy New Year Trophy Mafia
No specific plans, although I'd love to fit a good road trip in at some point, some fresh tyres all round and maybe uprate the front brakes to the 200/megane set-up
Thank you so much for the lovely words @photo_ed, truly makes all the blood, sweat, tears and empty bank accounts worth it!
Really appreciate the support from everyone here too. Super sorry for the belated reply, I can't lie I'm struggling to keep up at the moment. I certainly have trophy plans...
Owned one of these briefly when some shit hit the fan and I needed cheap transport. Perfect first car or winter daily whilst the Trophy goes into hibernation...don't tempt me!
When I lived in Australia, I had a Hyundai Getz 1.4, chucked a tent in the back, and toured most of the country waking...
Thanks so much for the faith, that's quite an outlay. I am not sure about Ireland, but over here printed magazines are VAT-free, so hopefully that will save you from getting stung by customs
