Frayz’s Inferno orange 182 - Back in the old flame

I'd have liked to have gone with the AP setup but as my car is 99% a road car that gets used in all weathers. I figured a road caliper was a better option and still works pretty well. :)

MOT day and the shitbox gets another year of play time with zero advisories. Quote Mr MOT man “it’s like brand new under there”. Why thank you sir. ;)

When Alex had the car last week he noticed there was some play in my OS bottom ball joint. These are spherical bearings as part of my roll centre kit. As you all know, my car is my daily driver which covers 250mls+ a week in all seasons and all weathers. So the exposed bearings really do take a...

Last week she came back from Alex at AWM after it needing a bit of love after developing an oil leak around the sump again. This was done last in 2019 when i bought the car back, but after after a bit of head scratching it was decided to give it a whole new sump and gasket etc. Alex also fixed a...

Wrapped those up in 4 brand new Michelin PS3s ready for winter. Clean wheels dirty car. Like driving a Rolls Royce compared to R888Rs. 😅

    Pulling to the right

Bent stub axle will still show up on a proper alignment jig as the rear axle thrust angle will be out.

    Pulling to the right

Swap your wheels front to back and you'll eliminate any possible tyre issue. Something is loose or out on the alignment for sure, theres a limit to what it can be, so id deffo take it elsewhere for a second opinion.

Identical to my first car. I had a phase 1 white/grey 2 tone 1400 SR. That looks absolutely amazing!

    Orbisoud exhaust - WANTED

Easiest place to find is on the French & Italian Facebook pages mate. They're always coming up for sale. Although i have to say, massively overrated build quality for the price they command.

Frayz’s Inferno orange 182 - Back in the old flame

Small update tonight. After 2 weeks driving on the RP1s I’d decided they just weren’t feeling the way I wanted the car to feel. I used Pagid RSL 29s in the OEM calipers and I’ve used 29s in all my cars. I just like the way the Pagids feel so I’ve opted to just pull the trigger on a new set...

I would have preferred the AP 5000R kit but they don t have any dust seals and my car is used 365. These should be hopefully as good as im ever likely to get for it.

Been collecting some upgrades for WZD over the winter. One of which was an improved brake package in the form of the following: PMS 285mm Brembo 4 pot caliper package. PMS 285mm x 28mm 2 piece rotors New rear brake calipers with red powder coated carriers. EBC Racing RP1 front pads (Interested...

Interesting you say that Andy and i don't disbelieve you for one moment. I've spoken to lots of folk who have carried out the Brembo upgrade and it seems probably a 60/40 split in favour of those who have had a long pedal thereafter. When discussing my plans with Alex, he said he would only do...

Frayz’s Inferno orange 182 - Back in the old flame

I believe so. I can’t be arsed with doing it myself, neither do I have the time right now, so Alex at AWMotorworks will be doing he MC swap. I hope with the correct MC I won’t experience any of the dead pedal issues that others often complain of.

Not much going on with WZD over the winter. Wife gave birth to our little boy in January so had plenty to be occupied with. Clio got hit (parked at petrol pump & revered into) the day before Christmas Eve which means the front bumper has a healthy scuff in it that I need to sort too. Yesterday I...

New Cat (Catalytic Converter ) needed - help

What a sh1tshow. So sorry to hear this Ian. Id recommend the Pure Motorsport system and cat. Vastly superior to OEM and the other offerings out there IMO ( ive owned a good few from BTM, Orbisoud and PMS).

Renault UK selling Trophy 001 and other Heritage Fleet cars

The fact he said he wished he could find a way to buy/store it says it all you need to know. Nothing more to be said about a Trophy that hasn't already been said. The Renaultsport Clios are some of the finest driving hot hatches of all time and the Trophy was the best of those that left the...

    Tyre choice

Indeed, less tramlining and in reality the difference would be negligible in terms of outright grip between a 195 vs 205 section tyre of the same profile. I bet most drivers wouldn't be able to tell the difference in grip but would be able to tell the slightly nicer road manners.

Will likely drive a bit better on a 195 to be honest.
