David87 is entitled to his view! : it sold fast didn't it? Almost certainly to someone who shares his viewpoint ;-)
Good sale, and best wishes to the new owner !
Not necessarily, although there are a finite number of the cars in the range the current " best available" today might get a stone chip that is marginally worse than the current number two car's blemish; thus promoting number 2 to the "best available" - until the next event occurs in the range...
Be careful they don't try to set the geo as standard, the first place I tried here attempted to tell me the machine had to use factory settings !!! Find someone who knows what they are doing; a good sign will be that they know how to fit camber bolts ;-)
Spanners etc. Not only numbered but signed in and out of the tool chest and polished before putting back in :-) sad but strangely rewarding.
Was thinking of giving names to my snap on ones .......
Not a massive expert on the 5 but I think it was a normal one (engine at the front) which had been prep'd for the track. It wasn't racing yesterday (too modern) but was out on the track free session between the races - we were also doing the same in my friends Citroen SM Regembau :-) the 5 was...
Despite what you think Hoolio is right - if you like, as an experiment, take them apart - put on new tm's then do nowt else; let me know if everything feels 100% after.
You can always do a search on " why does my steering feel twitchy and nervous" ( or similar) after
Shocks refurbished, new wishbones and balljoints, reset geometry, driving to a trackday and there was a little clonk every now and then over bumps; thinks - STM's??? nope;-
Took off wheels and checked the front pads and look what I found!

Agree, crashyness (bad word) could be top mounts or arb mounts?? My crashyness went after the shock refurb (I've got STM's and thought they were to blame, but no).
I changed the lot recently, only because I got a deal on some wishbones; even then the ball joint end was a moose to remove. On your point re being twitchy- did you have your geo checked after refitting the rebuilt shox? A must do (one of my constant observations) ditto after the ball joint or...
In a word, no :-(
Every supplier here was out of stock, maybe a sign of how popular they are! Waiting for another set of 888's to arrive today, pricier but at least I know they work well.
Next time..........
Cue, a good read, you had a great time clearly:-)
I love my T as much as anyone could - but honestly, my 911 is in a different league - especially at big speeds ;-)
Great way to spend your time though, well done!
