I'd say top mounts too - change 'em. Not a good idea to grease the rubber, depending on what you use it may perish the mount (in the medium to long term). iirc there is a metal bearing surface within which may have corroded?? I went down the stm route on my one.

If there's a point to be missed there is normally someone willing to oblige :-)
Jibbs, fear not, no-one is suggesting you are a French car hater; socially backwards .... Who can tell with such a fleeting interaction. We are not here to...
Re: Clio Trophy 333 (Low Mileage, Standard car) For Sale
Shame; the site isn't just about faulty french cars and how to fix them (or sell them!) sometimes it's about interesting and amusing discussion .... Even irony and sarcasm have been known to rear their heads from time to time :-)
Hey, what else is there to watch on a freezing winter Sunday night - we all know it's just a bit of entertainment, enjoy and stop acting like a bunch of moany old men (like me!) ;-)
Ps; always suspected Hammond was a knob :-)
Yes; I use CL pads with Brembo max discs, plus I've had no probs in 6k miles with any rim damage: I do wash them regulary though. They stop amazingly well, work OK from cold but don't fade on track - a little squeally when cold on the road. No need on the rear, really.
Have you actually looked under the arches?? You're going to find it tough changing the springs with the suspension still on; unless you're Paul Daniels :-)
