I bought a Nilfisk C120 after my trusty K2.87 died after 7 years of hard use, & it only broke due to my forgetfulness. Left it switched on but tap off and it decided to pump air for about an hour & caused a hairline crack in the motor case, but still worked until the hose connection broke last...
Of course that should read that the ECU WORKS out the required torque, not euro's blooming iPhone!
The 182PS that the Clio is rated it is roughly 179.5bhp therefore can produce 161.5bhp & still meet EEC regulations. There is no upper limit, so any car can produce more than published i.e...
All manufufacturers homologate thier engines in a test cell. All cars fitted with that engine thereafter have to produce to within 90% of that figure to take into account manufacturing tolerances.
This is the same for French, German, Japanese cars et all.
Some manufacturers stretch this to the...
I love the anti-roll bar on my car, makes it so much more pointy, cornering with much more verve & way less under steer.
I've also very recently done track days at Blyton Park & Cadwell in my friends 172 which has one fitted & it's brilliant in those conditions as well.
I believe they are BMW X5 mounts on a simple to make plate. They cost about £12 for pattern parts, whereas I'm sure I read Orb charge at least 4 times that.
Forgot to add my father-in-law runs 195/45/16 Continental winter tyres on his 500 Abarth, so you don't need to go for a bigger sidewall smaller tyre, but you will pay for them if you can find them anywhere, as his came from a friend who is a tyre test engineer for Conti based at MIRA.
I run 15x7" Fox Racing alloys which i got for free off a mate who only paid £80 for them with tyres off ebay a couple of years back as trackday wheels. I gave them a minor rubdown and sprayed with Halfords wheel paint which is not a million miles away from Trophy OEM colour. Fitted with...
Forgot to add, race cars normally have solid mounted engines and therefore next to now flexing of the exhaust system as the engine rocks back & forth etc another concession a road system has to over come.
Nope constructed differently because on a race car the throttle is pretty much wide open at most points and the exhaust gets very hot and the gas speed is high, plus noise levels restraints are different. Also as most circuits have a surface condition way better than any public road they can be...
There is a difference between a light weight competition system that is not built to take thousands of miles of torturous every day road treatment, & a system built to withstand them. Yes it will be heavier but it will last longer without loss of performance. The one Orb I saw wasn't the best...
For exhausts I'd only buy a BTB, but it's expensive, though beautifully made.
A certain Mr Adrain Newey is not only the most famous & possibly most successful F1 car designer of all time, but also a true car enthusiast who does some classic level Motorsport driving. I know for his race prepped...
It's not just harsh weather that you feel benefit, though you get a massive advantage when they are. it just needs to be below 7degrees and wet which describes the UK from Nov through to March even though we are experiencing some above average temps at the moment.
I found the most startling...
Yes they are 15" 195/50/15 Hankook iCept EVO winter tyres bought from www.tyremen.co.uk for £50 each about 6 weeks ago. Winter tyre stocks are now running very low & prices are going up at the same time on what's left.
Fitted my winter wheels & tyres today in preparation as temperatures already dropped down to 3degrees on my early morning shifts leaving home at 0600.
Picture taken at 1615 today and can already see the due misting on the rear quarter of the car where it's more exposed to the elements.
Mine did this first winter I had it, new plugs & its never done it again. Don't care that they are iridium the best work from them is done by 20k & only cost £38, not the 5years or 50 odd K Renault or the manufacturers say they last. Short journeys do them in much quicker.
I have spare 15" alloys fitted with new Hankook iCept EVO winter tyres.
The difference is unbelievable unless youve tried. I passed stricken 4WD cars last year in the villages above Silverstone as although 4wd gives better traction, it diesnt help stopping. Though in previous years both my...
How did that happen, was it a sidewall failure or did you hit something?
How old is the tyre? The week number & year produced are on sidewall i.e. 3105 week 31 of 2005 as some low mileage Trophy's may well have the original old tyres on the rear if never changed/rotated, as they are getting...
Cars hold value, or gain value due to different reasons. Some due to motorsport heritage E30 M3, Lancia integrale's, Sierra RS500 Cosworth, some because of cult followings, some ground breaking Mini Cooper S, MK1 Golf GTi, some limited numbers Peogeot 106 Rallye, or a mixture of all of the...
I answered a similar question not even 2 weeks ago on this forum.
But, yes you can fit an OEM CD multichanger under passenger seat & connect to the OEM headunit. You can in addition also fit a jack to be able to play from generic mp3 players iPod etc.
And you can also fit 182 FullFat Cabasse...
I have Koni's on rear of mine & they are great. The fact many suspension manufacturers use Koni inserts & Abarth offer Koni FSD dampers as upgrades on the 500/Punto models and standard on the £38k + 500 Tributo model shows how high regard they are held.
I can only mirror what has been said before, don't remove the Sachs front dampers, but can maybe increase your knowledge as to why.
At one time any suspension that had the coil (spring) sat around the dampers was called a coil-over, hence the rear of the Clio is not a coil-over as standard as...
I've posted before, but 3 of our current 4 cars, the one missing from picture our track day Fiat Cinquecento Abarth 1368cc 16V 6speed Panda 100HP conversion, quaiffe LSD, big brake conversion front & rear, AVO coil overs etc etc
Clio Trophy, Lancia integrale EVO, Civic Type-R Premier Edition...
Back of wheel there are two small access homes with metal clips you just prize to the side and airbag slides out the front. Two multiplug connections to unclip & it's off.
Overall looks like a good job apart from one thing, from the pictures it looks like the rubber thumb grips have been covered & in so doing sit proud of the rest of the wheel & now have too small an area to actually get your thumbs in.
Arran on ClioSport does charge £150 + £10 postage, but the...
Get the tracking checked as you've had the damped off & then refitted good chance the tracking could now need an adjustment.
Of course different tyres do have different characteristics. I actually prefer my car on Goodyear Eagle that it's wearing now to the PE2's it had before.
I've not read a...
