I think the Pure Motorsport top mounts & combined strut brace looks great & is based on the Clio Cup set up which had same combination. Nothing but praise on CS from those who have fitted them.
I run 195/50/15 Hankook iCept EVO winters on my spare wheels which were brilliant last winter.
Clio 172's came fitted with 195/45/16 as standard do no issues on size.
The only thing that surprises me is a clutch change with the mileage. My friends 172 has done 120,000+ miles and loads of track days & never needed a clutch. Though lots of stop/start driving can wear them out quicker than track work.
I live ten mins from Silverstone & never see any other...
I had two R5GTT's in my time. A 1988 phase2 in black that was written off by the guy I sold it to. And a 1990 Tungsten Grey model, H25 VUS rings a bell but may be wrong on that. Last I heard it went from London to Cornwall way. I got offered it for £500 before it went but just didn't have the...
My refurbished Sachs have now covered 30k trouble free miles including 2 winters (on my spare 15" wheels & winter tyres), as my Trophy is my everyday workhorse. My 1992 Lancia integrale EVO has pride of place in the garage as I couldn't stomach a dull car on my 90 mile a day commute.
My friend is selling his trackdays wheels over on ClioSport. He doesn't live that far from you up near Chippenham in Wiltshire which iirc from when I lived in Bournemouth an hours drive.

My 1997 Mitsubishi FTO GP versionR (only 350 made) was fitted with OEM HID headlamps. These headlamp units were only fitted to versionR's which had no washers or self levelling as it predates the regulations brought in in Europe. In fact I can't think of any car having them this far back...
Car manufacturers only have to provide spares for the length of the production cycle & a reasonable time thereafter. Each manufacturer will interpret reasonable time differently.
IIRC Honda will reproduce any part for any car it has ever made as long as it gets a minimum order of 2, but I may...
One of the most expensive options but very high quality as expected at the price http://www.clio182btbexhausts.co.uk/
And this site has everything from cheap Janspeed systems through well thought of but not so popular Piper system to the very expensive SuperSprint system at nearly £1000...
Yes, but not by conventional adjustment methods found on normal Clio RS seats.
If you unbolt the seats there are large spacers which you can remove which lowers the seats about 12mm iirc makes for an improved driving position.
Mine is on 52,000 now after I've put 26,000 on it in 2 1/2 years. I've enjoyed every one of those miles and plan on doing many more as that's what the car was built for.
I work shifts therefore work weekdays and weekends depending where the shift pattern falls. Wellesbourne is about 5 mins flying time from Cov so very close. Getting a good look round XM655 is def worth doing. We had the Vulcan land with us two summers ago as part of a celebration of flight at...
I ran 195/50/15 winter tyres on 15" rims over the winter months, nicer ride, less sharp turn in, quieter, but not a true comparison being a winter compound.
The wheels though I got off a friend with a 172 where he ran them with 15" PE2's and loved them. He also runs 15" wheels for track days...
I'm currently at Coventry but working through my 3 month notice period before I move to Birmingham which is exciting with the new control tower bring built, runway extension, new primary radar on sure, new ILS both ends etc etc massive investment. Been to Thruxton a few times for BTCC.
If you...
Transmission loss is not a fixed percentage, it's a logarithmic scale. For example if you have a 100bhp car that looses 15bhp due transmission it will not double the loss if you double the power as you're still using the same transmission. It will increase but not at a fixed percentage.
The...
My friend has both, a black 205 1.9GTi and a Clio 172 phase 2 & the Clio now has 125,000 miles on it and we've done trackdays at Blyton & Cadwell, plus over 150laps of Castle Combe & still feels strong. His 205 has about 110,000 & feels like its going to fall to bits. The gear change is so long...
I wouldn't replace a single spring if it was me as all springs will settle after a period of use, meaning one side would sit lower than the other. OK it will not be much, but it's piece of mind knowing that both sides will act the same.
As for 'coil-overs' unless spending big on something like...
I'm not trying to bum BTB up, I don't have one, but Joe Ellis the proprietor is a really nice guy to deal with as he's a friend of my father-in-law who had the prototype 500 Abarth by-pass exhaust built by him which has a boost operated by-pass valve built in much like a waste gate to make a...
Only just saw this thread, my 48,000 mile car is still on OEM exhaust and seems fine. If it does decide to fall off I'll be visiting Joe at BTB, though the RS192 at near half the price of a BTB is tempting, but I do know how good Joe's work is.
If you want to retain the OEM look but want improved sound performance then you can do as I did and source a Clio 182 'full-fat' model Cabasse Auditorium unit which iirc is 4x40W rather than 4x20W and has a much richer sound overall. Though still not as good as a decent aftermarket unit works...
I forgot about them, which is daft considering I bought a Recaro Young Expert Plus childrens seat from them about 2 weeks ago which was delivered next day, really good service with great email updates of order progress.
Not on a Clio, but I know that 2 out of 4 fitted to 500 Abarth's that I have heard of were blowing within first 6 months fitted, yes they were fixed under warrenty but not what I would have expected, and they are nowhere near as good quality as the BTB Abarth exhaust which are admittedly much...
I have the same seats in our Civic type-R which cracked on the driver side and dropped off. I glued it back together and then put a tie-wrap around it to ensure it wouldn't separate at the crack, once it's reattached the tie-wrap is hidden inside the cover. Further to this I swapped it for the...
There is a sticker on the inside of the fuel cap that iirc says 98Ron Recommanded yes the spelling mistake is meant! I think all ClioSport cars have this.
My car runs pretty poorly on anything but super, but it has the RS Tuner map on it which gives it much better cold starting & higher rev...
Good work, though I doubt anyone in the future will care much if stickers there or not more on the condition of the dampers.
I would suggest that you scan them before using them & then it's easy to get some made up for anyone else who can't get them them.
I'm sure there are many with the kit...
Hi,
I should have put I preferred the Eagle's to PE2's. No I found they were quieter than the PE2's but then all tyres get noisier as the tread blocks wear down.
TBH I don't really understand why so much love as the PE2 is decidedly average in wet conditions, poor in cold i.e. under...
Just buy Hankook V12 EVO they are made in Hungary and many ex.Continental engineers helped develop them to European requirements.
My friend is a tyre test engineer for Continental & remarked on this fact.
TBH I preferred my Goodyear Eagle F1's on my Clio to the PS2's, sharper, more direct...
