It‘s always difficult to get a return on money spent on a car, let alone a Renault shopping trolley. But with only 19 now on the road in the UK (apparently) I suspect nice ones will go for decent money.

The Petrol Blue was such a marmite colour, which is why there were so few spec‘ed in this colour I suppose. I always liked it and with under 30 brought into the country, now rare and expensive.

An Exige is in my “garage” of cars I’d really like to have and a while back was looking at a powder blue S Sport. It would of meant selling the T which was a tough choice, I bought the 5GTT in the end and still have both.

Well it goes without saying that a one or two owner car is pretty low. I guess the idea is that low owner numbers mean that those owners have kept them for longer and are more invested in keeping them in good condition, doesn’t always follow of course.

Sub 60k? Low owner numbers with good service history, all the “Trophy” parts in place that “looks“ well cared for. Lots of caveats to that and most is flexible and dependant on what the buyer considers worth it. Recent example of that was the £12k CC car which had a “few” issues.

I have to admit to giving it more than a second thought, such a beautiful watch but not quite tempting enough. :)

Mmmm, yes but good ones have been at that price for a while now. It seems pretty static to me, apart from the fight over the one on CC that is And without Forbes that would have stalled much earlier. There doesn’t seem to have been a rush to sell after that, the two on eBay have not moved for...

It looks as though the seller pays for the photographer but they say they have turned over £78million, 5% of that is no small sum.

It’s a no brainer really but as per my earlier comment the price was driven by just two committed buyers this time. The next one or two will be interesting.

Good point, I guess for someone just coming into Trophy ownership the small ruckus this has caused might be hard to understand, we have all been looking through the window of anything over £10k having to have that bit extra and this one has not got a lot of that. My view on this one is known but...

You could buy a whole mint example, that should sort you for most parts! The boat has sailed on most of the Trophy specific parts but what makes it a difficult question to answer is that a lot of the bits you would expect to continue have also disappeared. I think it must have been a Renault...

Its tempting isn’t it. Having said that the price is being driven by just two bidders, without stating the obvious that is what an auction is all about but having said that there is no guarantee a similar car will attract the same bun fight. My feeing is that there will be others along, nicer...

Weren’t Trendlines also fitted in one of the Honda Type R? If those cables are a Renault part might they also be a Honda part? That might be an avenue to investigate.
