Right, wheel pictures as requested. Note that the marks on the spokes are just sticky residue from tape or something, not damage - its just curbed badly, nothing that a refurb wouldnt fix.
Will try & get a pic tomoz for you, had a bit of an issue with the T on friday when changing the suspension, so its currently 40 miles away on axle stands lol
FailSport will be there, in Houx, from Thursday afternoon.
Loads of people from CS are going as well iirc.
Ill be in the BM, sod driving the clio that far lol
The rear Sachs are too soft when compared to the fronts, which leeds to understeer when pushing on towards the limit.
By fitting the rear Konis, or adding a Whiteline ARB to the rear end with the standard dampers, you stiffen up the rear end so it is more comparable to the front - giving the...
This may sound daft, but i dont think its wise discussing who can & cannot do the refurbs on the forum, there is only one distributor of Sachs parts in the UK, and all the other refurb places, once they start doing a few Trophy refurbs suddenly are unable to get any parts ...
I have a spare 172 box you can have for £200, no knocks/bangs etc, Agency Transmissions could then do a full refurb on top for £250-300.
Thats then £500 for what is effectively a brand new box.
Couple of things for you to bear in mind, with whats to be quite a decent car:
1. The front splitter is missing, this is approx. £120 from Renault, or £13 for a Skoda Fabia one (pretty much the same)
2. It needs the cambelt doing, personally, id get them to take £500 off and get it done...
Not sure how many you need, but i have a spare Trophy Turini that you can have for £50 + post if needs be - does need refurb mind you.
I have 2118's as a spare set now, so its no longer required.
Personally, id be going for the Pure MotorSport strut brace & tip mounts for that money!!

Thats what ill be getting at some point.
Ha ha, was a bit wet when i went round!!
Had 3 weeks worth of camping gear in the boot as well, which certainly didnt help the old lap times :p
Unfortunately, i still have the normal Trophy dampers on the rear, so re: the Konis id really just leave it as you have it for fast road - the 'ring...
Another potential rebuild option is here: http://www.cliotrophy.co.uk/forum/showthread.php/51137-Anyone-have-any-spare-knackered-dampers?p=376019#post376019
Just need some dampers for them to have a look at! Alessandro are yours currently off the car? Id happily pay for a courier to get them...
Yup, i got the following email back from Ben the other day:
Not entirely sure how they can justify still charging that when you can buy brand new shocks from Renault for £900!!
Looks like ill be in the same position as you then, what to do suspension wise!!
Aurok - cant get the parts anymore
BG - 430 basic, 700 with shafts, 820 with shafts & de-pinned!! ROFL.
Renault - 950 or so new
Tempted to swop over to non-cup front end setup for more choice!!
Oh. Balls. They're on the standard settings, with Sportlines.
I weigh 73kg's so not exactly a heavyweight .... but basically if i push down on the headlights/front wing they move up & down about 1-1.5 inches without much effort at all. Guess that means they're knackered then lol :o
How much should they bounce exactly? Has anyone done a video at all ...
Mine seem to move fairly easily - although they were only refurbed 13k ago lol (not by BG)

I was under the impression that they had pretty soft sidewalls?
Personally, i always thought the PE2's were overpriced.
Conti Sport contacts, or Hankook V12 Evo's are very good - i have the latter as they are bagaintastic!!
Couple of points about the ad :)
No mention of tyre brand, also the mileage seems to have gone backwards between 2010-2011.
With it now on 93k, why havent you serviced it in 20k miles? It'll also need the aux belt doing asap (no mention of it being done with cambelt & its due every 36k). In...
Who did the belts? Specialist/Renault, or some random garage - makes a bit difference to sale price imho.
Also, being a Trophy, people will want proper tyres on it. Lack of proof for damper refurb is also an issue.
Bear in mind that getting the cambelt/dampers/tyres done is roughly £500 each.
