Ha ha!! Yeah, its just a track car, so not overly bothered on it looking sh1te on the way home ;)
Wheels & tyres cost me £46, so certainly cheaper than the £250 most people want for PH1 F1's these days ...
Colour wise, they'll be what ever colour is on offer in Halfords
Further to a recent thread on CS, where this was created:
I collected these last night, to be sprayed pink this week ...
They'll be used as spare track wheels with PE2's, then R888's when they're knackered
Hell, i might even go back in time to 1997 and roll on them as dailies ...
195/50/15 & all with 7mm of tread.
£180 for all four collected.
As an aside, the tyres come with some golf fitment TSW Stealth lookalikes for free.
These are ET35, 4x100 but the centre bore is smaller than 60.1 so will need machining to fit a clio.
I use T1R's, at £30 a corner (for 15's) they are great value.
To those that suffer from sidewall wear/rolling over on track, try putting more air in them, mine were running 34-35psi hot on Sunday at Donington and were much better than the 32psi i had in them previously.
From yesterday. Saw a couple of other Trophy's as well, Spank-It being one of them, not sure on the other
New suspension setup on the Trophy is fantastic (set to -2.8 degrees negative front / -1.8 degrees rear), maybe not in the wet mind you, but when it dried out; lift, turn in, foot...
As did my shed ;)
Cadwell is tempting, but from Basingstoke, Cadwell is simply too far away these days ... done it a few times before when i was uni - purely as its not quite a drive from Cheltenham!!
Whiteline ARB makes it more twitchy imho.
Whereas i think the standard setup is a bit too understeery/not twitchy in the slightest!!
Mind you, i prefer the front to grip hard, & the rear to be more adjustable via throttle.
182 engine on 93k. Slightly rattly de-phaser pulley when warm. Can be supplied with a 3 month old dephaser pulley if required. Cambelt and Auxbelt done 2 years ago by Sideways Danny. Can be heard running or can be taken to JMS for condition check- £355.
182 gearbox on 93k. No crunches and...
Purely as my other mates cars (all 172 cups) run parallel really. Didnt give it much more thought.
In addition, by the time i got round to changing my mind (after reading about diff toe settgins on here) & asking the chap if he could do 0.1 he had pretty much packed everything away ...
Seemed...
Certainly dont think their higher, not exactly lower though lol!!! I reckon its about 5-10mm lower all round, has settled a little since these pictures as well.
Before:
After:
Hate to think how much Fishy charged though lol ...
Bet it was more than the £20 the Eibachs cost me
Depends on:
Age, Postcode, Claims, etc, etc, etc
Try the usuals, Flux, Brentacre, Sky, Chris Knott, Admiral :)
At the end of the day, its a clio, not a Ferrari, so the premiums arent specifically loaded as its pink.
No problem :)
Re: mileages, if you look after them they're as relaible as anything else.
Good oil/servicing every 10-12k and aux every 36k/cambelt every 60-72k, done by a reputable specialist and they'll last well. The 'de-phaser' is also worth changing as preventative maintenance as well if...
The standard front springs are made by Eibach, but to Renault specs.
Sportlines are very similar poundage iirc, but offer a slightly lower ride height, maybe -15mm or so, which i prefer. Also seems to have given a slightly more compliant ride without any loss of cornering ability which is...
No printout im afraid, they only use the machine to setup up the Lotus' they've stuck back together, its not a service they offer to paying customers so to speak.
Settings are:
Front Camber: -2.8 on both sides
Rear Camber: -1.8 on both sides
Front Toe: 0.0 on both sides
Not sure on Castor...
OK, so last night i got the Geo done by a mates garage. Yes, they are a bodyshop, but when you are the authorised repairer for Lotus, Aston, Ferrari, Lamborghini & Pagani, you probably know how to set up a clio lol ...
So, effectively, since we fitted the front suspension, the Toe has been out...
