As the tyre place stated they *should* be fine - the repair will have to be capable of standing up to anything that would be thrown at an undamaged tyre. However I wouldn't run a repaired tyre on any kind of performance car as in my opinion it's not worth the risk of failure.

I think the discs are undoubtedly cheap but I wouldn't blame this for them rusting - my previous Honda was just as bad if not worse. I don't think corrosion protection is a great factor when the manufacturers select disc material. A bit of surface rust won't do any harm at all - it'll be removed...

Mines just been in for its 12k service - both front and rear pads evenly worn (can't remember the percentages i'm afraid but certainly less than 50% for the rears) Sounds like yours might have a problem - perhaps they have been binding?
