My dealer reckoned the Trophy would still be worth 10k after 3 years, doesn't mean I believed him though!
Keep 002 tidy and think you'd never have trouble selling it, though I'm not sure it would command much more that the later numbers.
Sorry, that last post sounded really negative! Just had a quick look on the trader and it seems cars (albeit with lower milage) are being priced a bit higher than I expected - just goes to show how keen the prices are at allvehicles!
I'd say that was probably a bit strong - if someone was to offer me that for mine now I think I'd probably take it (55 plate/ 20.5k miles)
Personally I'd reckon that given the milage, you'd be looking at dipping under the 10k mark :(
Paul, I think you need to take a chill pill before you have a coronary...
The reason we are all interested in what the wheel looks like is that we are enthusiasts about the Trophy, and personally speaking I have never seen one with the steering wheel swapped. If you post photos it will allow...
Paul, both the Enzo and the Koenigsegg have airbags, while Noble and TVR don't really have the resources to equip their cars with such technology. The F50 is over 10 years old now, and as such was always unlikely to have an airbag, given the volume produced.
Anyway, all this talk of supercars...
13bhp from an induction kit alone!? Was this fitted before or after the exhaust & decat? What is the car claimed to be putting out with the combined intake and exhaust mods?
I do find this place is a bit more grown up and intelligent which is why I don't visit CS all that much...
I think the amount of time I'll spend on a forum is usually inversely proportional to the amount of text speak on that forum. I guess I'm just set in my ways (at 26!!) and prefer...
Topic moved from Clio Trophy Discussion...
Got no problems with the forum here - what spec is the computer, perhaps the xmas snowflakes are slowing things down?
Otherwise, my first suggestion would be to ensure the computer is virus and spyware free.
AVG is a decent virus scanner, and...
I think the Monaro would be a different type of fun to the Trophy - it certainly couldn't be chucked around in the same way although the RWD would add a dimension the Trophy doesn't have.
The VX220 will be much more similar to the Trophy, although again with the bonus of RWD. Obviously it...
I think a lot of the cost would be in labour, ie subframe replacement is probably an engine out job and a dash replacement won't be the work of a moment. At least the history will be documented on this site so hopefully no-one will have an unexpected shock in the future....
F!cking hell, having seen those photos you are one lucky boy! Glad that you made it through it ok!
I can see this car ending up back on the road as there is so little outward damage....
Ollie, the problem is that I don't trust the government to make it tax neutral, and I can also see that it will simply be expensive when people actually want to use the roads to go to work... I totally understand the change in attitude idea, but if its about changing the times we drive can we...
Ollie, please send me any links to data showing how this scheme would work & how it would be tax neutral - I'll happily examine them with an open mind.
The crazy thing about this idea is that we already have a usage-based tax on motoring in fuel duty, the more you drive the more you pay...
Please enlighten us with the facts then ollie!
All I can see is another opportunity to screw a few quid out of the motorist in the name of the environment. The true cost of this won't be known until it's forced upon us and we have to pay the bills... and when you combine this with the...
Or you could say it's funny how people who have paid their money for Permagard are justifying their purchase
I'm not trying to diss Permagard with my comments, just providing an alternative viewpoint to the many fans of the treatment on here. It can only be a good thing if this...
I've got a holdall in the boot of my car which I keep it in, along with spare water, maps, sleeping bag, clothes, basic tools etc.
It means I'm always prepared if I go round to my mates and end up pissed - a lot of effort just to stop the tyre foam rattling though!
Yep, it's been a while since it was commonly used but a bit of history is good to know expecially when it can be used to clear up questions like this!
It's cannot hurt to change your oil early, particularly the first oil change as you said. Modern synthetic oils last really well though, hence...
There isn't such as thing as "running in oil" however until fairly recently cars would be supplied with a different grade of oil (often mineral I think) which was then swapped out for the preferred oil at the first service (often a 1000 mile oil change).
So although there wouldn't have been a...
Regarding swirl marks - traditional detailing will remove them with a light polish, Permaguard claims to fill them - either way you will lose the marks. You pays ya money, you takes ya choice!
(Although if Permagard works as advertised then it would appear to be the better solution for...
Thought that post would open a can of worms
I expect I probably have seen a permagarded car at Trax, and I've seen a good few cars that have been properly waxed etc and to be honest I couldn't tell too much difference, although obviously I cannot make comment on the durability of such...
