Sounds like the anti-flooding system - the site blocks multiple posts in quick succession to help prevent spam. It's only something like 20 seconds I think.
At these kind of speeds you are also likely to get a whistle from the door tops (more noticeable at 130 though).
The top of the doors are pulled outwards by the air and created more noise than at more modest speeds.
I think the speedo has to read to read to within -0/+10% but certainly doesn't have to use all that range. Certainly comparing day to day driving with the gps value wouldn't suggest a discrepancy of that much. Next time I have the car up to high speed I'll check against gps!
I was surprised, it didn't take too long to hit flat out. Was an indicated 142-ish so I'd imagine with speedo tolerance it'd be bang on the claimed value of 140.
I was very impressed how stable it is at these kind of speeds, although there is a lot of wind noise, particularly as the door...
Followed you for a couple of miles on the way into work this morning! Was tempted to jump out the car at the junction and check if you've found the site! :D
Finally, after over 18 months of ownership, I have got round to doing the rear window mod.....
... by removing the nasty renault retail sticker!!
It's true, there is little point to smoking - but that's no justification itself for legislating against it. As an individual it should be our choice whether to smoke or not, and whether to enter an environment where there is likely to be smoke. There are many things that serve no purpose that...
But both you and the smoker have a choice whether to enter most buildings (for example, a pub). If going to a pub, it is reasonable to expect smoke unless the policy of the pub is that smoking is prohibited. If it is a no smoking establishment, the owner has made the decision on your behalf and...
I needed to get my tyres sorted on monday, and bottled it and went for the PE2's again. I'd be really interested to here your ongoing opinions of the paradas although I'm sure just about anything would be better than the knackered Michelins I took of my car!
Everyones got their own tolerances of what they will put up with on the motorway...
The Trophy is clearly not a motorway cruiser, but I certainly have had no problems with mine but then a super smooth ride has never bothered me. Yes it'll be noisy, and bump a bit with the firm suspension...
Old PE2's to new PE2's is a night and day difference... I'm going to get my tyres replaced on Monday and an currently debating the PE2/parada choice, having had yoko's on previous car and really liked them. Still 50/50 as to which I'll go for!
Cages can be bolted or welded - welding being the better (and more disruptive) option. Plenty of competition cars have bolted in cages, although admittedly the higher level you look, the more likely to have a weld in cage you are...
