The features of the Sachs dampers fitted to the Trophy do offer a benefit over the conventional type. As has been mentioned the increased volume will reduce temperature effects, and the larger damper rod improves the stiffness of the damper (and therefore also maintains the position of the...
Eh? Whats exceeding an arbitarily posted limit and thrashing a car got to do with each other.
I'll regularly drive in excess of the speed limit but I don't thrash the car. Safety and looking after your car are pretty similar in that its not how fast you drive, but how you drive that causes...
I think a 12k starting bid is a bit optimistic given what they could be picked up for if you shop around - certainly be interesting to see what it goes for compared to a similarly aged full fat or cup.
As hyb said its 13k - Arnold Clark has (or at least had - I have't checked back since I ordered mine) the Trophy on their website for 12995.
Get back over there and buy it - you have no excuse not to now! :D
Glad you changed your mind (although I did have my eye on your plate, lol)
If your 6'3" i can see why you would worry about the driving position - I'm only 6'0" and don't think I'll be able to carry passengers behind me as my seat will be touching the rear seats... who need passengers anyway...
What do the Renaultsport numbers actually refer to? For instance would they include my car? (ordered as a stock car for the dealer, but I have a deposit on it although I have not yet paid the balance)
I agree you (and the dealer!) would need the patience of a saint to go through the whole of that list but hopfully it will mean someone spots something they would otherwise have missed
Looks like I may now not be getting mine this weekend....
Car is at the dealer but they don't think they can prep it for tomorrow (How long can a PDI take??) Apparently I can't pick it up Saturday because of the new clio launch. Nothing like looking after your existing customers eh?
Just got this comprehensive (but not Clio specific) checklist from another site I visit:
Firstly I would phone the dealer in advance and ask that a copy of their pdi checklist is available for you to take with you when you collect the vehicle.
Many items on this list will be uncheckable by...
By this do you mean the rubber small rubber lip beneath the bumper itself?
Hopefully picking mine up this weekend - just go to check with the dealer today that it will be ready!
yep, mines been delayed too - now due to arrive at the dealer on the 8th meaning it won't get PDI'd for that weekend so I'm now looking at it being the 15th before I can collect - just so happens that's my birthday so it's not all bad!!
I ordered my Trophy without a test drive. I have driven a std 182 and a superchipped 172 to though so I have a pretty good idea what I'll be getting.
The superchipped 172 actually drove better than the 182 I thought - had a bit better mid range punch.
No worries mate, it doesn't seem too bad from home just seems a bit slow at work so maybe its the combination of the works connection and the site server.
Are you planning to develop the site to show more info about the Trophy as well as the Forum?
Dunno mate, I'm only going on what I saw at the screen at the dealer. Maybe the number on the website refers to the amount that haven't yet been delivered?
Either way, there aren't too many left anyway!
Just a note to say what a great site, I look forward to becoming a more active member when my Trophy arrives! My only criticism is that your server seems to be a little slow compared to other forums I use - not cure if you can do anything about this?
Keep up the good work! Steve
Just been to the dealer for him to value a trade-in for me and thought I'd find out how many cars are still left (mine is due 3/10 now rather than 23/09)
There is now only one trophy left unallocated! A further 21 have been ordered by specific dealers but don't have a buyer yet so that makes...
The 205 is an awesome car - I have owned one for the past 4 years which has unfortunately expired due to head gasket failure... I'll get round to fixing it some day soon!
The 182 is the only car I have driven to match it for fun - both cars feel so alive. I was instantly at home in the 182...
Cheers guys, I'll give the companies mentioned a bell.... insurance costs seem to be really cyclic. You only ever seem to get a decent quote from the companies that are currently pushing for business...
Just thinking ahead to when I get my car... can a CD Changer be fitted to the standard stereo in the Trophy? Also is there an auxiliary input for attaching an ipod or similar?
wow, seems like there are some good deals out there for people of similar age! I recently paid £340 TPFT to renew my Pug 205gti which is worth sod all so if I could insure the Trophy for £600 i'd be ecstatic!
How have you lot got such cheap quotes - are your cars garaged? Mine...
Hi All!
Got my Trophy on order - should arrive in a couple of weeks.
Where has everyone got there cars insured and did you get a good deal? I'm 24/6 years NCD/no convictions/accidents so insurance is still high for me. I'm 25 in a month though so would it be worth delaying taking out the...
