Hopefully they unscrewed it then rather than just snapping it off. Guess I'll be making a trip to Renault before my first service then...
To top it off I bought takeaway to cheer me up, only for them to get my order wrong :?
You just can't trust anyone these days!
Came back to the car earlier, flicked the radio on only to be greeted by some poor reception so I stuck the CD back on and thought nothing of it. When I got out of the car I noticed that there was only the base of the aerial mounted on the roof!
I can't believe some pikey git could be arsed...
You are kidding me right?? Most yank cars are designed to waft you long distances smoothly - they don't know anything else. Their interiors have levels of plactickiness (TM-fazedesign) that put most French cars to shame (and that's saying something!)
Sorry to hear it mate.
You're looking at a ban for this for sure, but hopefully you can keep it down to couple of weeks.
As has been mentioned, get a letter from your new boss saying you require a license for work. Maybe its also worth speaking to your previous boss to see if they will...
Someone just sent me this: great if you are bored and have too much time on your hands....(like me then!)

Just adding to what I said earlier - I would not modify the suspension on my car unless I could put on some subtantially better components, the calibre on Ohlins or similar.
In fact, I i'm not going to think about modifying my car at all, unless I start suddenly earning a whole heap more than...
Spax are also at the lower end of the suspension market. I would be interesting to see how "equal" the springs are comapred to the Eibachs.
It can be quite surprising how much spring stiffness can vary for a given spec - some manufacturers have a much more relaxed tolernaces than others....
I've never dared buy one due to the dubious legality of the devices - but I hadn't considered what a near perfect install you can get on a Clio!! Excellent stuff!
Still got every other license protection device hanging off my dashboard though....
I'll be there Thursday - I wish they wouldn't keep putting the price up though... £20+ for tickets then an extra £7 to park your car is a bit steep if you ask me.
Glad to see you've finally see the light KS :D
You on the lookout for a Trophy now then, although I must admit I have a soft spot for the Williams - they're just so quaint!
- Good luck to those on the lookout for a Trophy, I'll post links to any I spot for sale on this thread.
All car makers pay for journos to jet off around the world to product launches and get wined and dined etc - why should Renault be any different?
As an aside - have you noticed how when some cars are reviewed at launch they get great write-ups but then when they get back to these shores the...
Glad you're finally getting the car - hope it's worth the wait!
(Guess we won't be seeing you on here for a few days because you'll be too busy driving!)
Use Rain X or something similar (Think mine is called Mer Rain Away or something...) Haven't needed to use my wipers over 40mph since i applied it to the windscreen - Excellent stuff.
Might go and check me nuts in a bit though (fnar fnar) :D
Really sorry to hear it mate.
Not sure how hard the hit was but I would imagine the following *could* have been affected...
Bumper, Bootlid, Exhausts, Rear Wings, Boot Floor, Lights and then onto things like Suspension, Wheels etc if it was a harder impact.
Glad to hear you are ok...
Had been driving a 205gti for best part of 4 years and loved it. Went for a test drive in a 182 late last year and loved it but my work situation meant I couldn't justify the purchase. The head gasket finally of the 205 finally complained at 600 miles/week commuting so I picked up a Honda Accord...
They are still of benefit on track - both touring cars and gt cars I have worked on have used remote reserviors primarily to allow a stiffer damper and to increase the thermal mass (giving better resistance to fade) - Indeed one of the cars still showed an unwelcome amount of damper fade during...
KS - A remote reservior damper WILL provide a stiffer strut installation and WILL give a performance increase for the suspension, its just one of the reasons why they are used in motorsport. I think the benefits to the average road car driver will be minimal but it will definitely yield an...
I'm pretty sure there is - it's some of the numbers/letters on the side (not the 205/55R15 designation though - that's just size and speed rating)
Can't remember which refers to characteristics of the tyre - i'll post if I remember
It's useful to differentiate between the two stiffnesses (oi, no sniggering at the back... ) that are being considered here - The first being the spring/damper rate combo ie. what most people are describing when they talk about stiffer suspension. Secondly there is the stiffness of the...
