I quite like Trendlines but they are too big for me, they still hold me well whilst the car gets thrown around but the seats in the new Fiesta ST are pretty snug.
There should be plenty of straight answers confirming the original fit rears were Sachs so bit odd that. Unfortunately they have not been available for a while now and best replacements seem to be the Cup version from Renault or the Koni supplied by Mark Fish amongst others.
I guess we should all be pretty happy that our cars are selling for good money but personally for that money I would have wanted to see a cleaner car, engine bay bit of a mess and I would have wanted to see underneath (I would want to see it in person before parting with that amount full stop)...
Also, looking closely at that photo it looks as though at some point someone has removed the original rubber top mounts and fitted a solid version which more often than not mean the turret is drilled to fit. So as well as holes for the strut brace there will be further holes under that rubber...
I think removing that brace is probably a sound idea, it doesn't look that effective. The front damper is not actually physically attached to the strut housing in OE form, it just sits inside the turret and is secured by the top part of the top mount seen in your picture.
What do you mean the...
Jesus, don't worry about that, I'm light years behind you. That is basically the problem, I have neither a buzz gun or breaker bar which I guess is the way forward.
Thank you for your kind offer but I'm down in Wallingford Nr Oxford so not really an option. I have squirted copious amounts of penetrating oil down the trailing arm in the vain hope that they will shift when I try again tomorrow.
Glass of wine is now calling.
Yeah pretty much what I thought too though still think it’s beyond borderline. New rear bumper and spray, knowing the way the petrol filling points rust I would say that that is the rear wing that has gone, new rear quarter? Full service, Sachs refurb and that is without considering the reason...
That's pretty sad. I wonder why the paintwork on those two panels is okay and the rest are roached, I mean what has happened to that paint?
My guess is that that is probably beyond economic repair.
Thanks to you both.
Neither the Trophy Sachs or the Koni Adjustable come with either the sleeve or bush. Its a 50k+ car so I will inspect and decide. Not that I have ever scrimped on the car but TBH it's fifty quid I can do without spending at the moment.
Can't help with the part numbers but I have a feeling these are no longer available. I had a quick look on eBay and and there is a set of all three for sale there (make sure you get the correct finish) unlikely to be minty mint but possibly your only avenue now.
Just in the process of spraying my Koni black before I fit, can't be dealing with the yellow.
The rears are sealed units so cannot be rebuilt. Did that come from the seller?
That link says "Trophy decal NLA" which sugests no longer available?
The shop version look as though the have a useful positioning tool as part of the stencil.
