Just visited all the examples listed for sale recently and most don‘t seem to have been moved on as yet. That includes the one on Collecting Cars which has not even moved on from “Pending”! Lots of people on the FB page wanting them but unwilling to lay down the cash?
Probably asking in the wrong place because all of us are going to reply that they are an absolute hoot. Whether they are worth in financially is a different matter. £9k should get you a nice one and it will probably pay for itself but only if you don’t plan on putting too miles on it and will it...
The presentation for sale compares really badly to the example Tom is selling. Obviously much lower mileage than 53, similar prices(ish) but the attention to detail is light years apart.
Oooops. Well there’s one of the reasons for my posts in the other thread! At least I said nice things about this one apart from saying it was too expensive.
Yep, it’s got to have had some paint somewhere I guess, but it’s the little things like new wheel nuts that point to the big stuff also being looked after.
Although those things can also flatter to deceive!
Debated whether or not to row into this one but what the hell. I actually think it’s a really nicely turned out example. All the door shuts spotless, cabin all original and in very good condition (bar the ciggie lighter) all plastics good and black, wheels look good and it’s looking really...
As I said in my original post, I’m fairly but not 100% sure these are no longer available which is why I posted it up. You must have seen this thread https://cliotrophy.co.uk/threads/clio-trophy-part-numbers.53897/ ?
Plenty of copies available fairly cheaply but I think these are NLA from Renault so may be worth a cheeky offer.

I finally received this reply today, it’s pretty much a stock brush off!

I’ve had both the steering wheel position fault, slightly loose connector on the lead under the top cowling behind the steering wheel which was easily solved and has never reoccurred. Also the lead under the passenger seat had caused some grief, I have cable tied it to the frame and is mostly...
For a while I followed the development of the RSC range due to a connection to the Renault 5 scene. Looks good but with no UK outlet would be a pita for servicing.
Reading this thread was a little surprised to see my car (307) had apparently done nearly 125k back in 2017:eek: looks like IanE entered the wrong car number and it was never picked up. It was and still has 57k under its belt by the way.
And who are you I wonder? Being dirty was the bottom of a list of problems probably indicative of the general health of the car and if “finding someone willing to pay” over the top money for a pretty average car was top of the sellers priorities then fair enough, but it doesn’t say much about...
