Today myself and Bubbles passed a fair few hours giving the R27 some TLC.... clay-bar'd, followed by some Meguiars Deep Crystal Polish and Meguiars Deep Crystal Wax.
Well chuffed with the results.... liquid yellow looks awesome when clean even if i do say so myself :)
lol.... i joined before all that came in... but i do agree that it goes against the grain of trying to encourage new 'forum users'... you can get a trial full membership for a few days and then decide if you fancy joining up properly.... speak to blackrat230 on there as he's a good guy
sadly we sold it
2 main reasons... the first being that Bubbles is doing a 2000 mile a month commute with work and the second being we bought this :
She now has a MK4 Golf GT TDi 130... she's in the process of changing jobs so the Golf then might become something more fun...
looks like a good tidy repaired car to me... a price close to £7k would have me reaching for the cash, so long as the quality of the repair is verified as top notch... for a track car it'd probably be ideal.
it's nowhere near as dodgy as my old one 328
i don't have any doubts you'll regret the decision... my R27 now has just under 4000 on the clock and i'm still loving it, pure grin factor handling wise and my mpg has started improving too... up to an avg of 31 on my commute to work (Trophy would be about 34ish mpg).
that soon drops though...
If it's a Clio, it'll be an R27
Nimbus, with graphics is a very nice choice, the one i test drove was that spec. what options you got, how much it setting you back if you don't mind me enquiring?
my post about laziness was made in jest
it was a £110 option iirc... but not sure whether it's do-able tbh... might be tempted if you do get it figured though! :D
not everyone frequents this forum before / during Trophy ownership and as such might not know that the 'expensive' dampers can be refurbed fairly reasonably...
48k miles on this one but has it been 48k easy miles (i.e. motorways etc) - at the end of the day a 1 owner car with full history and...
hmmmm... my new house has a garage.... just need to find some money
though all things considered i personally don't think the price is too far off the mark... gotta remember that a lot of people don't like higher than average mileage Renaults, especially when they have expensive...
Here's a few of my pictures of the Cup :
Plus a quick clean and a better pictures of the new mod on the R27 too :
White looks absolutely gorgeous... without doubt (and i may be biased) but these 2 colours are the best available in the 197.
However...
personally... i'd keep the plate on retention and then when the time comes to sell put it back on the car. it'll make your car stand out more... mine seemed to get a lot of interest with T23PHY on the car as it was a nice eye-catching plate - yours is better IMHO and it's worth more than 250...
