Definitely the cold weather. The car is running richer for longer due to the engine taking longer to warm up. I'm hovering around 28mpg, normally it's around 32-33 mpg. Plus my emissions light has come on too. Noticed this last winter and it happened with my previous car.
I get this on full lock when reversing slowly first thing in the morning, a judder like the wheels are skipping. Don't get so much when the tyres have warmed up also only really started happening during this cold snap.
I always replace tyres 4 at a time. I generally get around 12k out of my tyres and swap the fonts to rears at around 6k miles. By the time it comes to changing, the tread on all 4 tyres are near enough the same all round.
I have COD5 WaW on the Wii. Only recently got this version as my mates have this version and said I should go online with them. Needless to say, I got absolutely wasted, running around like a headless chicken shooting anything that moved to the point of getting motion sickness and getting...
I never seem to stick with the same insurer after one year, their renewals are usually an increase in premium even though the year goes by without incident. Currently with Admiral for £278, live in a low risk area, only 5999 miles a year (strangely the premium goes up if I say 6000 miles per...
Re: 2005 Renault Clio Trophy, over 7K spent! Big Spec!
"£7950 NO OFFERS! please do not call or arrange to view if you are looking to spend less."
That would put me off right away. Also, ask anyone who know their cars about the Trophy and the first thing that would come out of their mouth...
I've been weight training on and off for about 15 years. I'm 6ft and used to be a 9.5stone lanky streak of pish. Went up to nearly 13 stone, but been around 12 stone for the past 8 years. My problem is finding time, juggling work and time with kids.
For squats I do 145kg to parallel, don't...
If I was in a situation where I have to do a lot of mileage and require something a little more refined, then I would go back to a BMW, most likely a 330d or a 120d or 130i while also dishing up a bit of RWD fun.
Hee Hee, I only jest. I was only on there a few days ago, and have heard that the Scorpion RS192 exhaust may no longer be available anymore, makes mine just a little bit rarer! Things has slowed down and is not as busy as it once was.
And it'll handle loads better because it's been lowered by 150mm with UltraMegaMaxDynamics lowering springs running on 19" chrome rims and "stretched" tyres.
Cliosport has is merits and most of their guides are quite useful. It's also entertaining reading some of their posts, eg.
I've kept up with a Ferrari/Porsche/Evo as my 172/182 has over 200bhp because:
Chip = 15bhp
Exhaust = 10bhp
Panel Filter = 5bhp
Admittedly those were in the old days...
Just make sure you get assurance that they use the genuine Renault timing tools on the cambelt change. There's been a spate of people on cliosport.net taking their clios to non-Renault garages for the cambelt change, only to find that it wasn't done properly with the correct tools and ending up...
Don't wave but occasionally give them a flash of the headlights/hazards. Also do this at the end of whenever I happen across complete strangers in other cars who appreciate a bit of a thrash/spirited drive before we go our separate ways which is usually reciprocated.
The company did a promotion where I work a while ago. They had two parked at the front of the building. They do look stunning and the brakes look weird, but actually they're individual electric motors behind each wheel. They're 700bhp fast!!!
I'm afraid I turned to the dark side, I painted my callipers today. I used a matt black spray paint for stoves and cast iron fireplaces for temps upto 650 degrees C. But I didn't spray on the the calliper directly. After removing all the surface rust and brake dust with a wire sparkplug...
I used 7 litres of Halfords ready mixed "high performance" coolant. You need to remove cap from the expansion tank and then undo the bottom hose on the radiator and let the system drain. Once the coolant has drained undo the top hose to the radiator and flush through with a hose pipe. Then...
Just to add, just incase anyone else has a similar problem. I had exactly the same thing on my MOT. It failed on emissions and had extremely high HC emission. The Renault mechanic advised I take it out to get the CAT nice and hot. So took the car out again and went for an hour long blast up...
