Stamped on the front of the engine block between the oil filter and the gearbox,on a flat machined oblong.
Dont rub the rust off the number is kinda laser eched into the block make it wet it can help see it.
Renault have know about poorly maintained bonnet catches leading to the bonnet opening whilst driving for years, its even been on watchdog!
This may be a new recall but its the same old problem, cheaply made and poor quality materials lead to seized catches and accidents.
Shocks had the full service plus new compression adjusters that work (not pinned),new dual seal gas cap assy each, dyno tested at BG cost £550
Powder coating at mates rates £30,i got BG to send the stripped unit back so i could do this as they dont currently offer this service.
Just got this little lot, from BG and the local dealer. Its the credit card that's gone to the max :p
Note the new type fitting?no more schrader valve.
Modified spring platform to allow the crud out, gone from a 6mm single hole to 3 8mm holes
Those clever frenchies have put their parts...
The old ones have done more than your 74K lol
They have broken at the bottom leaving a pile of rubber rings around the damper and as i have refurbed damper i would like to replace them at this point.
Hi All,
I have had a set of front dampers refurbed and im looking to replace the dust guards also to keep the crap out.
Renault dont sell them, has anyone found a good alternative ?
Has anyone found a source of new dust guards for the front Sachs dampers? Renault apparently don't sell them
I just wondered what you guys do about replacing the old worn ones when refitting newly refurbed shocks ?
As we all know dirt and grit is the shafts worst enemy.
So from your original post am i right in thinking that your aux belt was NOT changed with/when the timing belt was done ??
As this would be normal practice as you have to remove the aux to do the timing belt .
The only thing i would add about cornering force is that if your dampers need new shafts,
And some will by now the only place that can supply them is BG i was told by simon.
Ive gone for the full works rebuild at BG with new compression adjusters and dyno test
they returned them to me...
Has anyone used 'GAZ' on their clio? i have a set on my 5GTT and cant complain.

Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone knows if OHLINS do a front shock for the trophy/cup ?
As im contemplating changing from Sachs due to costs of new units
Cheers
Autoglym interior cleaner (green label) spray, hot water and a scrubbing brush got mine up nearly mint.
Its a summer job at best they take ages to dry.lol
Im running a ITG foam filter in the standard box, which has greater flow than the OE and its a pretty much fit once and forget it.
Unless your anal about cleaning it every 24k or so.
I got it now ! your missing a part there, this bracket will sort the gap out.
But i don't know where except RENAULT you would get this as its not supposed to be removed.
Should fit like this ?? mount bolts to floor, exhaust bracket goes through hole in the rubber,it may or may not have a bolt to secure it
Unless your exhaust brackets are bent? but you would see this.
