I'm stating the obvious here but there's a switch to the left of the hazard switch which turns the automatic central locking off and on. It's a padlock.
Mine had a mind of it's own for a while after I changed my headunit. Was alright once I got it sitting straight in the dash again.
Sounds like fun. I remember having to start holding the wheel with two hands a lot more when I had mine set from STD to -2.0. Not sure of the toe setting though as I just let Mark set it to what he thought. Would like to try more sometime but I do lots of motorway miles at the moment. Some rear...
-2.8 sounds like a lot of negative camber for road use. Is it a bit of a handfull on uneven roads?
The MF setup is much faster than before on all but the very worst roads but it is a bit stiffer. A good Nurburgring setup IMO.
The Mark Fish springs will feel quite stiff on the road relative to standard. I would try the Trophy front dampers with revalved koni's on the rear along with a whiteline Arb and 2.0 degrees of camber on the front. I used to have 2.0 degrees on the front and the Arb and it was a very playful...
Failures from new and 95k...
Temperature sensor
Lower air intake pipe collapsed
Immobiliser ring failed
Alternator failed
Solenoid in power steering system failed - probably damaged replacing alternator I think.
Nearside damper leaked
I currently need to get my steering wheel trimmed and a...
The acoustic valve seems to make very little difference. Check that there is a black feed pipe onto the other hole into the airbox and that it's in good condition. Mine collapsed and the engine was taking in hot air from the engine bay. It felt very unresponsive when it was warm.
From your experience it sounds like you know what your doing. Fresh fluid would be well worthwhile. I suspect a standard trophy might feel a bit frustrating after karting or the Clio cup. Standard tyres and brakes are going to struggle if you drive it hard in the dry. Always good to learn more...
I think a decat makes quite a difference to the noise levels. I remember a guy at work had a standard exhaust with a decat and it sounded much more purposeful than mine at the time. Any ideas on levels for the prospeeds?
Yes I think it was quoted as 92.
The Yozza must be a nightmare most of the time! There's been plenty of occasions where I've been annoyed by mine on a long journey.
I know every track setup is different, but I thought it would be interesting to hear what readings people have got from noise tests at the track. My silenced Orbisoud with it's sports cat was 92db @ Bedford with 4/4.5k revs I think.
I would want someone to check the timing just in case.
I had a problem with mine ages ago where it was feeling underpowered when warm. No-one could find anything wrong. When I took the airbox out to fit a maxogen I found the intake pipe underneath it had collapsed. It was obviously getting warm...
Looks good doesn't it Hoolio. Last time he said it would be fine with a sports cat. I guess there might be a few less horses. I'd be interested in the power differences between sports cat and decat and between the RS2 and the extra?
I had a similar thing once. My fronts had warn more in the middle due to being slightly over pressure. I got the geo checked twice because I thought something had been knocked out. The car was wandering all over the place. Changed the tyres front to back and the handling was perfect again!
Black and black with a spare set of red wheels for track or grey with black. If not a colour coded wrap for the hood as I don't like the white with carbon look. White R26's look great.
The changes sound good. What pulley is that?
I also changed my plugs last weekend to cure the low rev misfire. They looked pretty good but obviously needed changing as it's fine now.
You've gotta love Germany for the autobahns! I took my trophy out to Munich with a few hundred miles on the clock and was there for another year. I hate driving back here now unless it's early in the morning or late in the evening. UK drivers are awful. I have to say that the trophy is not ideal...
The car has probably not even been out in the winter so I doubt the dampers need attention. This car is probably as good as a standard trophy gets in my opinion. Have a look and check the records if your interested in buying. Everyone knows the deal with cambelts and dampers by now. My bike has...
