I had a problem with mine not feeling responsive, especially after sitting in traffic. No-one could find anything wrong with it. When I took the airbox out to fit a maxogen I found one of the air intake pipes into the airbox ( the one which doesn't go through the acoustic valve ) had collapsed...
Hiya,
Yeah, sorry about that. I was trying to get a passenger lap in my cousin's car before it closed! Would of been good to check out your track car. I had a great time in the Trophy with the Khumo's, although it rolls a bit too much in the corners! I'll definately be back again next...
Your car does indeed look very shiny. :D I can't wait to get back to the 'ring.
Speed camera's abroad shouldn't be a problem yet. Don't try it in a hire car though. I've had a couple of fines from Austria. Also been escorted to an ATM in Switzerland by an unmarked car. Their motorways are...
I think they always vary track to track depending on how they take the reading and the accuracy of rpm you hold. My car also gets much louder when it's warm.
My bike was measured at 106db at Silverstone and it's standard. He let me carry on but I had to cruise past the sound meter every lap. I...
Don't bother with an ITG filter, it doesn't make any difference. The Maxogen is good but you should consider that the difference won't be that great. I like the sound and it does pick up a bit earlier, but is it really worth that much of your cash? It will make more difference than an exhaust...
I know what you mean. I have been considering 4 pots too. I guess AP's and Brembo's would be 1 - 1.5k though. There doesn't seem to be much information around on upgrading calipers. Cheaper versions include HiSpec, CompBrake and willwood. There was a group buy for compbrake calipers on...
Hi Andy.
I think the Pagid rs4-2' blue seem to be the most popular pad, or for less cash Ferodo ds2500. Everyone seems to be using brembo High Carbon or Max (grooved) discs too. Add some braided lines and decent fluid. Have a look on the yozzasport website. I find the ferodo's a bit...
Thanks.
I've not sorted anything yet. As I need 4 new tyres, I'm considering just putting some Hankook R-S2's on my original rims. That's the cheap option. Ideally I would buy 4 15" alloys and a set of R888's, but that's roughly the same price as 4 days on track in Spain on my bike (including...
OliS,
When are you going? I'm going the weekend of the 13th September.
I guess the parada's are a similar theory to the Hankook's I mentioned, although I think they are supposed to be pretty decent in the wet.
Cheers, that's good to hear. I was concerned about getting them up to temperature, not overheating them.
I'll be going out whatever the weather though. It's too far to travel not to! Also it's quiet when it's wet and there are no bikes.
Thanks guys. To be honest I don't think I'll be going crazy, but every time I put new PE2's on the car I wear the edges out straight away (already at -2 degrees camber). As I'm just about to fit 4 new ones I'm reluctant to ruin them in one weekend! Just trying to figure out the best alternative...
Thanks for the tip. Never used them before.
Last time I went to the ring I had worn michelins from Spa the day before and dying brakes. Not a great combination in the wet.
I've been to the Nurburgring before with my standard tyres, but was wondering what people think is the best tyre for the job. I'm toying with the idea of a second set of wheels anyway with r888's or khumo's, but I don't know how well they would heat up at the ring. Would anyone bother...
I'll be sure never to park my car next to yours in Tesco's. It doesn't even know what a hoover is!
They do look so much better clean though don't they.
morego. Includes cams etc but very expensive.
I have a superchip and so far so good. You won't get a huge gain with any remap though. It has gains in torque and power but doesn't really feel any faster. I think that's because there is a more even spread of power. It gained everywhere but not...
Sounds loud when revved and quiet at low revs which is good. Engine seems to pick up a bit earlier in the rev range. Seems to create a quite a lot of vibration though.
A replacement air filter will not make a noticeable difference to the sound or performance. An induction kit will but do your research or you could lose power.
It's just being driven properly!
In theory if you added more camber it could wear the inside edges more but I have not had this problem with -2 degrees and lots of motorway miles. Their pretty even. It can be a handfull though.
Standard settings should be fine obviously.
All Rolling roads will give different results, but there's only a limited amount of power to be gained from small mods (especially exhaust and panel filter). Unfortunately the clio's don't really make 182 bhp as standard either on some rolling roads. If you gained 8bhp from the remap and a few...
