After reading my post again, I've probably made the car sound worse than it was. I didn't need to replace the rusty parts or the front suspension but the bug to make it perfect has hit me very hard. It was a tad scruffy but definitely a usable daily.
The car puts such a massive smile on my face...
I picked one up quite cheaply last year, and it's not been without its quirks. It was pretty scabby underneath, the brakes were shot, the brake lines were leaking, the suspension needed refreshing, the alarm has a mind of its own, and bits of interior trim need replacing.
So far, I've replaced...
I ordered from a different seller last year and it was a genuine part. It looks like someone found a job lot of water pumps

I think my dash light control toggle is starting to fail. Does anyone have one going spare they're willing to part with.
Picture to help explain my terrible explanation of the part I need
Someone on Facebook is selling a oem exhaust with a bit of patina. They don't want to post and they're based near Stoke

There's a set on Facebook marketplace located in South Wales for £50.
They come with new in package set of pms strengthing plates which could offset the cost of the wishbones if you sell them.

In my continuing quest to restore the trophy I'm after a spare steering wheel that I can send off for restoration.
Does anyone have one going spare.
Mike
I bought one from France, when it turned up the breaker had written over the front in white marker. It's now ruined 😒
Happy to pay the extra and make sure it's pristine.
I'm looking for a good (ideally pristine) condition heater control panel. I know it's a long shot but does anymore have a spare they're willing to part with before I take a gamble on ebay.
Mike
That looks lovely.
Making me want to get the springs redone at the same time.
Going to stick with the plan to powdercoat the big bits and paint the smaller bits that will get knocked.
I'm about to send the knuckles, wishbones, anti roll bar and rear axle off for blasting, primer etching and painting.
Would people go for paint or powder coating on the parts. Currently I'm leaning towards paint on the wishbones and knuckles so I can patch any chips that happen and powder...
Mark put a set on here for sale recently along with his phone number. I've gone with Mark fish springs as one of my rears has lost the pig tail.
The front oem springs were available from France when I looked a month or two ago for €200
For a long time I use to only buy diesel cars that had over 100k miles on them as the allure of a full service history, mainly motorway miles, a new clutch, flywheel and probably a new timing belt meant I could do another 100k miles before worrying about anything big going.
On the whole I'm not...
