Totally with you there, I caught myself looking at them in a sort of Homer “Mmmm donuts” kind of way, despite the fact that I have more sets than i will probably ever need.
No. I won’t bore you but got let down and finding someone to take it was one of this weeks (I’m off) jobs but I really would win a gold medal for procrastination. Meanwhile the list of jobs gets longer…………….
Lots and lots, rear bumper held on by a couple of screws at the moment.
😛
At £8k with that much spent under its belt that would an absolute bargain and probably even at £10 but it seems to be a buyers market at the mo and if you are wanting +12k it is going to have to walk the walk as well as talk the walk.
I wish it were more enviable. I suspect there are others with more 😉 I saw what happened with the 5GTT scene when parts literally disappeared overnight and I failed to read the writing on the wall with the Clio stuff until too late. Some of the stuff I have for the 5 is worth a small fortune...
I’m not sure they were ever put on a jig and actually tested side by side. I think it was just accepted that the rears could not be that much different Sachs to Cup. If I didn’t have original spares, the cup option wouldn’t be a difficult decision.
I believe that amount is for the pair but @Mike256 in reference to your comment above, Kam say this:
These are also fitted to the rear of the Renault Clio 182 Trophy models as the standard Sachs dampers are not able to be replaced or rebuilt. These Koni adjustable rear dampers work well for...
I have a set of the Mark Fish Koni adjustable (which he sold alongside his Trophy/182 springs) so I’m not sure where that information came from, perhaps they are different? I do have the boxes/model numbers for those.
Aaahh, every single argument and counter point you are ever likely to hear in one bite sized thread. Fun though with a lot of the stuff fitted that I would have liked to do when I had more money than sense.
Thanks Marc, that is very good news. That email from BG kinda hints that the situation was more serious than we thought. Hopefully that covers spare parts as well as service parts.
well done.
I will echo Ed almost word for word here. RenaultSport is no longer and it always seemed to be a British “thing” so that is a complete dead end. Sachs would be a more likely option but would there have been some kind of licensing with Renault that has now lapsed hence their closed door.
Which...
All a bit concerning this but quite surprised that BG are not thinking about reverse engineering various bits, things like the shafts are pretty simple bits of metal.
Take your pick of reasons for this, there are a fair few threads with a similar theme but sticky/dirty throttle body, injectors, coil pack, crappy old fuel, was there also something of an issue with the contacts on the throttle peddle Itself? Hopefully it is nothing though.
To be honest, seeing the way some are disintegrating, well worth the effort. The challenge is getting to the bottom of the pits. Their Highbild primer, fine sand, spray, fine sand etc etc will get a nicer finish if you want to get properly anal.
When I did mine I did consider the colour, but...
