I found if I left the handbrake on for any period of time more than a week, particularly if there was moisture in the air or car was wet when parked, the rear pads would 'cease' to the discs.
So I stopped using the handbrake and simply left it in gear. No issue as was garaged on the flat...
I agree with Claude and others. Unless you have the car set up professionally, or really know what you're going with corner weights, camber, castor etc. you'll just be turning a dial based on your gut feel, which may or may not improve handling. It'll be completely subjective. Renault engineers...
Ouch. I paid £84.63 + VAT for a pair just before last Christmas. That eBay ad looks like Renault Wolverhampton too. I guess stock is running down and they've hoiked the prices; cheeky s*its.
Mr Perfection Valet, Richard Tipper, had a crack at this mystery Trophy this afternoon. It was posted on his Twitter feed. From the photos I saw it looks very original. Was likely once a forum users car as it had a trophy.co.uk sticker in the back window. The seat base on the driver side has a...
I guess your purchaser wasn't called Richard either. I suspect Mr RSDriver will remain a mystery. Would be nice if he made an appearance to say hi and let us know which one he's got. If Harry Metcalfe can say hi, anyone can.
Maybe it is. I doubt spending the capital is the concern for the guy. Having and maintaining a super example will be.
A thread has been re opened to cover 000. User name Millers owns it. RSDriver00's name seems to be Richard. He's building a whopper of a house which he's blogged about via his...
It seems we have a minor Twitter celebrity in our midsts. A serial supercar owner (911 GT3 RS 4.0, McLaren and other exotic metal) has purchased a Trophy. No idea which number he bought. Has anyone sold a very rich chap from Hertfordshire a Trophy lately?
In his Twitter feed he was asking...
I don't think it meets your 50 miles radius, but it's an easy drive from Bristol. Tom Taylor-Gibbs at Extreme Gleam Detailing in Droitwich. Tom looks after all my cars with a passion for them like they're his own. http://extremegleamvaleting.co.uk He's got a good FB page too; lots of videos...
Yes, it is. There's quite a lot of chat about the car on Clio200.net. The announcement of the unveiling at Monaco seems to have been on the RenaultSport Facebook page by the look of the screen shots shown. Commentators are claiming its got the 275bhp engine from the Megane.
There are even more...
Hi Roy, sorry to see you go (again). My Trophy is still rugged up and well.
Still getting to grips with the 200; I'm not doing that well as I've only put 3000 miles on it since last February! It finally clicked to 6000 the other week. New Elf NTP oil, rather than the NTJ, in the 'box helped...

From what I've read over on ClioSport the valves dropping on these engines is usually what does for them (or a belt jumping off). The guys that write all the engine build threads usually seem to discuss replacing the standard valves with uprated ones. They become brittle where they transition...
This news about Michelin giving up on the Renault 182 is very disappointing. Very odd TBH. Both firms are French.
Then perhaps they feel (completely incorrectly in my view) that the only people still driving ten to fifteen year old cars are chavs who cannot afford good tyres and really don't...
Looks like a fun route. Trophy looks so much better on original Speedline's. Would be interesting to get your views on how it handles on different tyre profiles/wheel in a back to back comparison; if you were able to swap cars on the day.
£9,000 for 302 with 64k miles and all the non standard equipment; highly unlikely.
Hollybrook will be doing well if they can flip 105 in two weeks for £3,500 more than the originally advertised price.
Asking a premium price for something usually means value being added post the most recent...
Never understood why anyone changed the exhaust from original. Weight saving and performance perhaps, but no benefits out weigh the resulting booming noise and boy racer image.
Thanks for pointing that out Karl. The PS3 have a flabby side wall, to the extent that certain individuals were prepared to purchase the tyres produced for heavy loads rather than the standard tyre. None-the-less the PS3 seem to be the preferred option.
My enquiry to Philfree was "can we have...
Philfree, you sound like someone with inside knowledge of Michelin. Can we have 205/45 R16 Pilot Exalto II's back please?
Frustratingly Michelin still manufacture them in 205/55 16R and 205/45 17R.
Do you know if Michelin will continue to supply the Pilot Super Sport and Pilot Sport Cup 2 in...
I think a Mark Yates, and his brother, were the original founders of the 106 Rallye forum. Up north somewhere. They went on to run 106parts.com or 106partsdirect.com, something like that. Might not be the same Mark Yates, might be as a Mark Yates has dealt with French tin before.
