I used the standard Halfords bulbs, but put in 100w bulbs in the full beam and 80w in the main beam. They are about £7 each. The Halfords part number is 448R the bulb pattern H1 for the full beam. The main beam is 477R the bulb pattern H7. The boxes are marked Halfords Rally.
If you upgrade...
Berty, you should try 32F and 30R, like Cue. It's a revelation from the standard Renault pressures. Transformed the way the car handled and removed loads of slow speed in town crashing and banging for me.
Not wanting to teach Grannie to suck eggs but everyone is checking tyre pressures with...
A single hoop should be fine for trackday use then.
Great that you 'know' the welder, you can take your time and ensure it's installed to your exact requirements. Here's hoping you never 'use' it.
I have a Saftey Devices bolt in cage in the rally car. They use good steel and are well made. It saved me once, stood up nicely and I was able to use it again when I reshelled the car. They have had their 'financial challenges' over the years and now manufacturing is done in Poland/Eastern...
Number 1 is used in the RenaultSport promotional video (see YouTube) and there are two on that video, so it would make sense that Renault used numbers 1 and 2 for the video.
It seemed that number 1 was always tested by the UK press as 'unregestered' and had a RenaultSport or photoshop reg...
Hi all, I've been given copies of the two Evo magazines that review the Trophy. One copy of the 2005 Car of the Year and one of the shoot out with the BMW 6 Series.
As I have copies already would anyone like them? They are the standard copies rather than the subscriber ones which usually have...
The guys at PG London are great in my experience. The challenge is getting an appointment on a Saturday, as they are usually doing a large boat in the summer or something more exotic. I've been trying to get my six monthly top up done for a while.
When it was first done I moaned that there was...
Finally good news. Went to Mill Lane this morning (again) and everything is sorted. The mechanic that did the work, Phil I think, was totally on the ball and knew what he was doing and knew all about the part fiasco. He stripped the old cut down one out, offered it to me to keep, and fitted the...
Thanks Cue. I did look at them. Seems they do one of, if not the cheapest, Exalto deal around.
Some of their approved fitters aren't up to that much though. I think a lot pay to be on their list of approved fitters and there is a revenue sharing deal. I know of one listed that is a serious back...
Correct it's the ECU pack behind the battery. The bit that snaps is attached to the N/S front inner wing, by the damper top mount.
Agreed. I also though this would stop it happening, perhaps the extra washers will support it sufficiently.
When I got the MoT done at the weekend they found a screw in the N/S front tyre. It's in a block so may not have penetrated the tyre carcass but I'm loathed to extract it unless I'm at a good tyre fitter with an Exalto in my hand.
I wouldn't want to risk Kwik Fit or ATS etc and you have to buy...
Double click that one and it becomes HUGE. It is two washers 'sandwiching' the bracket with the M10 on top. It looks like the bracket has broken too and this is Son of Solo's fix.
In the blown up photo you can see a snapped edge.
Jordan, good luck with this. Very much supporting you and hope you get a positive resolution. I would try to paint as balanced and objective picture of the situation as possible. I know this has put you out massively and you are frustrated. A polite and fact based letter to the top people will...
I certainly will do, as soon as Mill Lane fit the correct part on the third attempt! Nice of them to say they will come to me to fit it on Saturday morning though. Fingers crossed :)
Looks like you've sandwiched the bracket between the two washers then put the M10 back on. Is that right or...
S4M, turns out the part number Hoolio gave me (8200067223) is spot on.
I got the very helpful Alex in parts at Mill Lane to bring up the engineering diagram with the part on it and fax the diagram to me. You can easily see it's the right one - there is no huge pannel on the side of it.
The...
Hoolio, turns out your part number (8200067223) is spot on. Thanks for that.

SM4, sounds like you've have a lot more luck than me.
Can you tell me the name of the mechanic you say is the good one please? I'd like to request he does the work.
Also do you have the receipt for the ECU bracket fix done under warranty? If you do, can you please post the part number they...
Turns out the part number Mill Lane quoted for the second time was wrong as well. See the thread "Cut & Shove ECU Bracket". 7701471821 is DEFINATELY wrong.
The correct part number may be 8200067223.
Cheers Hoolio, I'll call the parts dept first, get them to describe the 8200067223 part and then tackle the service dept if the part number you provided sounds right. Basically one is an L, the other a single straight piece.
Whatever they fitted was wrong and 'made' right.
Right. Back to Renault Mill Lane it is then. The part number for the bracket fitted is 7701471821.
Described as 'Battery Shield KO'
I thought it was very fishy when they had to cut it down. I bet they cut it down because they ordered the wrong part the first time two weeks ago, and as the...
Had the MoT done this morning and got the ECU bracket fixed under warranty. Mill Lane in Aldershot were much better this time round (I think). Allowed me to watch MoT no problem. Also consulted me and talked me though what they were going to have to do to get the ECU bracket to fit.
I don't...
11,400 miles. MOT this weekend. Prior owner used it as a second car and only did 5,000 miles in two years. Their wifes car was then stolen and it was therefore used more, did 7,000 in the following year.
I've only done 600 miles in it since I bought it in February 2008...
Could be the brakes ceasing on just a little. How often do you drive it? If daily I doubt it's the brakes.
I left mine for just over a week without driving it, having stopped it on the foot brake, and the calipers had stuck to the discs. Handbrake also ceased on a little. That made a rumble...
Permagard have hooked up with MasterShield who use the 3M stuff and now do deals. I was told by Permagard London that if I booked through them they'd sort a discount of some sort. Perhaps Permagard all over the UK have done the same.
MasterShield seem to be well respected at doing this type of...
Go to any Renault dealer and they will extend your manufacturers warranty from one to three years I think. There is also a milage limitation too, that the car cannot be above today. It's quite high though. About 80k. Leaflets readily available at dealers.
According to Mill Lane in Aldershot one...
