I thought he was asking if I was sure it can be had for £38 and I said yes but you need to be a member at opie oils and they need to have a special on!!
The price Cue is asking is good IMO but I was just answering his question about why there was no interest.
If you dont mind sacrificing a little wet grip Hankook RS2s offer really good dry grip and are cheaper than PE2s.
They are supposed to wear quicker too but I do very little mileage so can't comment yet.
This is like me selling them Mrs' diamond ring and changing it for one with a cubic zirconia!!
I hope when they come to sell they dont think it will get Trophy money!!
It will just be one of the lamda sensors have a french moment.
If it stays on longer than a couple of trips out they might need replacing but dont go near dealers!!! [-X
I have been really unimpressed with Dodos Rain Forest rub.
I'd go as far as saying its pathetic, beading had gone in days if fact the Zymol Concours on my roof beaded better after being on for 2 months than the dodo did after 1 day. Thankfully I only bought a 5 quid panel pot but it has put me...
I have driven both a Trophy and a 172 Cup on track.
The Trophy grips harder and has much less understeer but the 172 Cups brake setup is better, the Trophy's ABS was cutting in where the 172 Cup would still be braking hard. Also the 172 Cups rear seems better under braking.
To me anyway...
Booked mine in for doing, earliest was June 8th!!
Got some old and slightly knackered 182 dampers to fit so as to keep the car running but it won't be doing more than a 2 mile round trip in the time they are off!!
Just debating whether to replace the rears at the same time too!! Anyone know...
Just ring 2 or 3 dealers and play em off against each other!!
One of the local ones to me offers money off for forum members! Not sure if they post stuff though!!
It's a while since I did mine on my 172 cup so can't remember what you need!
But I think it's a 17mm socket for the bottom and a 10mm spanner for the top! The springs don't need compressing just a good pull, hence why I wunt do it in a normal jack!!
If you don't have the tools I would suggest...
Are we just talking rear springs and dampers??
If so do it yourself!!
Its probably the easiest job you can do on a 182!!
Dampers are just 2 bolts, the springs just pull out, you dont need to take the wheels off and no specialist tools needed!!!
The only think I would recomend is a trolley...
You seemed pretty upset when I took it away so I thought that when it comes time to sell I was gonna PM you to see if you want it back!!
Wont be for a while though!!!!
How common are snapped springs?
I have thought about bidding when I have seem em on ebay cos they do go quite cheap.
If you got the spring rates are there places that could custom wind them??
I'd buy it!! I bought the lowest mileage one for sale when I was looking. Mine was on 18700 at 4 years old in Sept 2009. Currently on 21800, for info I paid £7800 but that was private so no warranty etc.
Just remember that it still needs belts at 5 years and thats a £500 job.
Dampers will be...
You cant get r888s in trophy size for stanard wheels!
If you want a bit more dry grip on the road try hankook rs2s or toyo r1rs but before doing it I would consider the use the car gets cos they are not as good in the wet and don't last as long!
