It's a massive shame to see another 1 off the road permanently. The damage is easily fixed but it's the cost of the repair and availability of new parts which probably hindered its chances.

Maybe some decent parts for someone when it's broken for spares

It will be a while before they are ever fitted because the ones on my cars are still in good condition but as I've learned, sometimes its best to buy stuff when it's available because alot of parts are slowly getting harder to source.

I have invested (amazon delivery pending) in a soda blaster gun (sodium bicarbonate aka baking soda/ bicarbonate of soda) I've done a bit of research and sand blasting and similar forms damage the surface slightly and pit it but soda is delicate and none damaging. I'm not sure if it will manage...

Both top mount kits turned up today from autodoc including the new spacer nut. Renault want £21.82 just for the nut and the SNR kit cost £15.64 with the nut. It's taken 7 days but I'm happy

I believe item 9 replaces item 5 and 6 now

I've just fitted the genuine top mount kit to both sides from RPD with the modified nut spacer that wasn't on my old shocks. I must say it drives alot better and no knocking now

It looks like your going to have to cut off that bottom edge on the rubber boot to allow the next step to sit over the top of the black plastic base on the shock absorber. Is the rubber boot none genuine? I've done hundreds of shock absorbers for all kinds of cars and they sometimes don't fit...

That was the removal instruction for taking your motor out of the old headlight. I should also say to make sure the motor is fully extended using the dial inside the car. It will make it easier to unhook it off the slider. I think you might need to set the dial to zero (fully extended) before...
