Braintree Renault (John Pease) are having my car next week for the 72k service and they are doing it for just under £800 with my oil and brake fluid. it's not the cheapest price by far, but they're much closer to me than renTech (who incidentally weren't vastly cheaper from memory), they were...
I appreciate you mention steering, but as another cause of bearings appearing- I seem to recall that there may be some ball bearings in the seat runners or that area - search for rattling seats or something. Sorry this sounds a touch vague - someone else may recall better than I can.. Hope that...
cool - I am very slowly working towards sorting myself out with suitable kit to polish mine (previously permaguarded..), and am keen to see what works for others.
Looks great, I especially like the last photo; guessing it has seen a little additional contrast in PS?
May I ask what you use in the way of applicators for hand polishing?
precisely - 12-15k I believe.
Good to hear you're having interest- with time I'm sure you'll get what you're after :)
hoolio, you summed up my feelings too.
Nice to see a few more fitting comments for this for sale thread. I agree that it's a well priced example and it will be a Shame to see another original owner move on. The mileage isn't high really - must be below average.
Best of luck with the sale :)
I think the black finish on the cover makes it look oem and the polished sections work well in contrast to it. I know it's in a somewhat different league, but rather like ferrari's use of red and with polished lettering (maybe?!)
Always good to see a little tripod action! :D
I had the same issue with cv boot clip a few months ago - repacked with grease and used one of those hose clips that you tighten with a screwdriver... Holding so far, although noticed a small amount of grease; may just be residual from the original...
When you say 'gone', do you mean just in need of refurbishing? In which case you have one good front damper, one in need of a refurb and two good rear dampers...? (just clarifying..)
Looks fabulous G. I always admired your last LY; the black wheels really worked. This one is slightly more subtle but gorgeous with it. Always said I wished my other half would buy one, but sadly the mini cooper was her dream; not that it's a bad car!
 or extra cooling...
Looking good, welcome officially to the fold :)
nice focus with a soft background in some of your photos; what camera were you using?
Spotted turning right onto St.michaels hill, around 12:30pm today. Looked like it was loaded up to the gunnels! My fiancée (recent!) and I had just been quad biking and rage buggying and were heading to cheddar, else would have followed to chat (although we're in here mini cooper). Pretty sure...
Had a feeling it was the Ed.30, but didn't want to be proven wrong ;)
I think the wheels make the car :) - very nice indeed. Slight power increase over the standard gti; is that correct?
I think this is probably the one that was there when I visited around this time last year..! Did it have a green cage? At the time he showed me the other section of his workshop where his machining gear is kept - it was impressive stuff. He was working on a TB conversion for a 172 cup at the...
indeed it was (sorry, I should have updated you!).. and i think that the sound i was hearing (pre Orb fitment!) was the end(s) of the strap moving across the teeth on the hub? (not sure what the serrated section is?)
Took the car out on Friday for the first time in around 3 weeks and all seemed...
