Yeah, they are about 25% stiffer and the car sits less than an inch lower all around. I think the front drops something like 15mm and the rear a little more.
There's no need to worry about the roll centre in my opinion. I've covered over 60,000 miles standard and the same with MF springs and I...
Thanks for the advice. It is an awful lot of money to spend in one go but at least the Trophy isn't depreciating as such. Dallas that used to be on here had an FD2 R and it was quite a focused machine. Very nice!
Mikey they are much better but I think I miss some of the rear end adjustability that was there with just front camber and rear ARB. The Trophy is hopefully going to live on as a weekend car so I'm interested in making the handling a little more extreme.
I have no useful advice I'm afraid. This sounds like a bit of a financial nightmare! Are you considering upgrading the diff while everything else is being done? Also did Mark add any rear toe when he added camber to the rear? I have the standard MF springs and revalved Koni's on the rear but...
I agree with Claude here about the Ferodo and the Pagids. If I wasn't going to use Pagids (which last ages by the way) I would investigate some Mintex or something for road use.
I don't think there's anything similar around at the moment. I've just had some fitted to mine but it's too early to comment on them yet. I had the Federal rs-r before as the Hankook rs2 z212 (good tyre) and the AD08's were no longer available. I think the Ad08R is better in our current slippery...
It depends how aggressive your driving is, the type of driving and the tyres I guess. If you are always on the motorway it might wear the inside edges. With the PE2's I used to wear out the outside edges first so the extra camber helped even up the wear and stopped the car rolling onto the outer...
Come the (2nd) cam belt time all the cost is in the labour. You would change cam and aux belts and I would say water pump and dephaser pulley too.
Cc. I changed my ds2500 after a few thousand miles so the Pagid have been much more cost effective for me. They were ok with some heat in them but...
I can't comment on the Carbon Lorraine pads but DS2500 can be a bit rubbish from cold. I swapped mine for Pagid rs42's and they are in a different league and last for ages.
I also much prefer the car with some extra negative camber to help front end grip. The other great mod is a white line...
Yeah, I would be tempted to have the dephaser pulley and the water pump changed while its apart for a cam belt. I just had all of this done on mine @ 120k. It certainly needed the pulley and they are relatively cheap parts compared with the labour involved in a cam belt change.
A comprehensive answer there!
i think you are supposed to change the Aux belt as its been 3 years. Then your cam belt will be due in 2 years or at 112k as advised.
I'm with Philly on this one. I wouldn't spend 3600 on two new dampers as that's just Renault pricing and actually about the value of my car! I can see why spending hundreds of pounds to patch up a set of eight year old dampers is pretty high risk. It's not just the outlay but extra time off the...
The Trophy is ok in the snow but the wide tyres don't help. Winter tyres are brilliant. I've been running winter tyres on 15" steels for years now just when really necessary. They are 185,55,15's so not great in the dry as they are narrow. Ideally I'd like to fit some decent winters to my spare...
Hi Mark,
Welcome to the site. It can be a bit quiet in here sometimes but great for sourcing a decent Trophy and information on maintenance and mods. Good luck with the search.
Luke.
Probably a good choice. Let us know how you get on with the R1-R's.
The Federals are not the best in the wet. They are fine in standing water but not that good cornering or accelerating out of bends.
I will be trying to get hold of some AD08's if they are available when the time comes!
This little video gives a good look at the new 200 turbo compared to the old NA 200. Quite a difference!

I have to admit that I like the fact that the new turbo Clio has a bit more torque. The engine characteristics and gearbox...
Well my unpinned dampers lasted to 5 years and 90k so I wouldn't be too stressed about that. There is quite a difference, However, if your planning on keeping the original rears it will just unbalance the car front to back. I run mine a bit stiffer as I have revalved Koni's on the rear now. I...
I'm looking forward to hearing how the suspension setup compares to the Sachs. I've been wondering about this setup for a while - before Cornering Force came along.
How are the AD08's? When I wanted some they were out of stock so I ended up with Federal RSR's. they are pretty good considering...
Exactly. What do you plan to use it for? I've covered 55k on Mark Fish springs with -2.0 ish front camber and rear Koni's revalved to MF spec and a Whiteline ARB. Unpinned Sachs set a bit stiffer. I'm sure you could handle it on a weekend car. It's bumpy but it's very fast and stable on all but...
You won't notice a difference in a replacement panel filter. I tried an ITG panel but no difference. Then moved on to an ITG Maxogen which I'm much happier with.
Why would you keep that with damage to most panels. It's a breakers yard. They'll just sell off the good bits and crush it for immediate profit. It will never be worth much restored.
