What a kind offer. I think I'll just hang on to them for now
The guy at Renault said it would be £290 (each) for new ones! The refurbished shafts were £147 each. Hopefully they will be available for a while longer.
I think the O/S shaft I received is brand new, it has the original part number sticker and the original style clips that fasten the boots, it also looks new, especially compared to the N/S shaft which actually shows signs of refurbishment, that one also has the sticker with the exchanged part...
Hi Guys.
I'm fitting new drive shafts, I went to order 2 new ones from Renault but was informed that they no longer supply them. I've ended up ordering a set of refurbished shafts instead.
The part numbers for the 182 cup / Trophy shafts are as follows..
O/S - 8200 372 166
N/S - 8200 372 167...
I've run with -1.5 on the front for a number of years now, no problems. Nice even tyre wear with the odd spirited drive thrown in and no scrubbing of the tyre wall. Seems to be perfect, for me at least.
When you remove the lower ball Joint from the hub you have to remove the bolt completely otherwise it won't drop out, there's a groove in the ball Joint that the bolt goes through which locks it in position. Just tap it out or use a pry bar to free the ball joint afterwards.
I've had a set of Goodridge lines fitted for around 9 years now. The fittings have started to go rusty and the clear sheathing had gone a bit yellow due to the heat from the brakes but other than that they're still performing as expected, they've never given me any problems, I rate them highly...
What about black and white...
Sometimes you don't have a choice when the only other options are bright orange or grey.
Love the Capsicum Red on the Trophy. Wouldn't have it any other colour. I also really like the Petrol Blue.
Thanks guys.
J - Yes, first time Pagid RS4-2 user. I've had Ferodo DS2500's fitted which were really good so it will be interesting to see how the Pagids feel in comparison.
Dave - I've had new wishbones, bushes and track rod ends fitted recently so there was no need to renew them this time...
I've been painting my hubs and tidying up the front end in general. Turning out quite well actually...
Thinking about removing the subframe and Anti Roll Bar for powder coating but they're not actually that bad, starting to get a bit carried away...
Hi Jaine.
Welcome to the forum and thanks for updating the register for #119.
Happy to help if you need anything although it looks like you've already managed to find your way around the forum :grinning:
That must have been fun moving that Dave! Did you go and pick it up?
Although the 4 post takes up a large footprint the ability to park a car on top and underneath effectively doubles your storage space, should you have 2 vehicles.
The one you suggested is probably the best option for somewhere between axle stands and a scissor jack, I don't think you will find much else in that price range that will be of greater use, I imagine it will be very useful. The ability to lift the car from the chassis/lifting points is the main...
With the lift/jack you have suggested you're still pretty limited with height in the sense that you're still going to be rolling around on the floor to carry out any work, however, it's perhaps an improvement over axle stands in terms of height. I'm not too sure it's designed to be lifted or...
I just can't understand how someone can own a Trophy and resist giving it a good thrashing at every opportunity. I'm less worried about the value than I am the day that I've run it into the ground and can no longer drive it.
I was relating the rack bushes to your creaking issue, although, they generally cause a clunking or knocking noise when worn so perhaps it's not related so much. I was just curious. I replaced mine at the same time as the ARB bushes as they also looked worn. They're not as difficult to chance as...
I replaced mine a couple of years ago, They would have covered less than half the miles as yours, mine were also cracked around the edges. When I removed them the majority of the bush looked ok considering they were 10+ years old. I think the outer bushes wear out quicker, that might be because...
Andy, 'depinning' is simply the removal of a pin that locks the compression adjuster on top of the reservoir and prevents the dampers from being adjusted, Renault set them at factory and locked them in place. If you want to have the ability to adjust them yourself you need to remove the locking...
