From past experience of the alternatives a new set of cup dampers is an excellent short term replacement for a freshly refurbished set of Sachs.

Back in the early 80s it would be the norm to see E types,Astons,Lotus and many other prestige cars in a similar situation.
I have NS 2rs on my spare set of wheels and as others have said they are an excellent summer tyre ,perform very well in the wet but they are quite noisy especially at motorway speeds.
I have thought of getting one of these or the airflow chamber equivalent.
My 2 garages are dry,draft free and have carpet on the floor.
