Chris I had a chat with Andy aout this earlier and he says he knows where there is a good bottom end, he also has 16 valves removed from the F4R lump I gave him when we embarked on the f4r/f4rt hybrid engine conversion. You really need to get the head off to see how mashed up the underside is...
Chris dont break it mate, it's only an engine that can easily be replaced.
Breaking it will be a ball ache and you'll enevitably end up with bits you cant shift imho its a bad idea [-X
I'll be brutally honest they do nothing for me at all, there OK to look at but prformance wise I'd take a Trophy all day everyday.
Insurance is cheaper as well,£530 with every single modification declared :)
WOW thought I'd logged into cliosport there #-o "yeah thats the brake resevoir" LOL
Thats genuinely shocking, when was the last time you chaps checked your brake fluid levels?
I'll be completely honest Ktec do know there stuff, you never here anyone complaining about there servicing or mail orders.
95% of peoples problems stem from there performance upgrades failing to achieve the advertised figures, ie the high pressure turbo set up is advertised as a 300bhp yet...
If it was me I'd probably go with Craig at AP developments, he has been getting a slagging on CS but he had his garage broken into and loads of stuff stolen which meant he fell behind whilst he was waiting for the insurance company to pay out etc... he's been tinkering on with clios for a while...
Mate theres a lad called Hutchie who works at Mickleton garage at Barnard Castle he's a top lad and highly recomended.
I also can do cambelts as i have the full renault tool set but only really do them for people I know in case it all goes wrong
Mate the dampers were spot on, couldn't believe how much traction I was getting considering the conditions and the power output. I still haven't got an LSD but that didn't stop me sailing round the outside of cars, or out accelerating some of the 4WD boys. Heres a pic of me whizzing round the...
Lads I can only apologise, especially to you Hoolio as I was really looking forward to a catch up.
The car snapped a coolant hose joiner and it was a pig to sort out. However once sorted I put on a decent show in the afternoon. Everyone seemed pretty impressed with it which was nice.
Next year...
Anth sorry for the late reply but the earliest I could pop through for a look at it will be the weekend 28-29 Aug, I'm at RAF Leeming on a bike trackday this Sat and have plans I can't get out of on Sun.
Let me know if thats any use. Parts wise I bought my ball joints from Northwest Performance...
Spotted a fellow Trophy owner at Mallory on Sat, unfortunatley it was while I was trying to repair a snapped coolant hose so I didn't get a chance to pop over for a chat.
Anyone?
Steve
It definatley sounds like a ball joint buddy, I had both of mine replaced on mine when it was still in it's warranty period, and I've just fitted two new ones at the weekend. But just to be sure make check your springs are located correctly and not snapped etc.... Also check the clearance...
It's only worth a remap if you've got supporting mods but I don't trust anyone one with my mapping apart from Paul@RStuning, I would let Matt (Icarus)@TDF but he's quite a distance from me.
Come on you'll have to give us a bit more info mate, is it engine related?
does it increase with engine speed?
does it increase with road speed?
is it when you drive over bumps?
when changing direction?
I'm from Sunderland and could probably help out but I did a cam belt change on a clio...
Choosing a tuning option really does come down to personal choice, some people love screaming their car to the red line in every gear, to which a ITB kit would be most rewarding, some love big fat torque curves found in turbocharged setups and others prefer superchargers as it's in between the...
I too have this system (without the centre silencer and de-catted) and I also find it a pleasant sounding system, however I'm with Dave and think the fit could be a bit better and I'm considering getting a custom system from AAS in Newcastle
Fred from BTMpeformance has nothing but praise over on cliosport and hes located in Birmingham heres his contact details

Of course they can, just like Ktecs high boost turbo conversion will give you 300+bhp yet only gives 260-280 in the real world :D
Revo are well established in the VAG world so I'd be more inclined to choose a proven map over someone else

You won't get 210 bhp from a map mate, I had a 130 before the Trophy and have a few friends who still run tuned Tdi's.
Realistically you'll get about 180 on a mapped tdi130 and about 190 on the cupra 160 (it has a better intercooler), they are more economical than a Trophy but they have quite...
All I do is every 6 months is give mine a good wash and clay then whip the rotary and PC polishers out and polish with Autoglym SRP, before applying 3 coats of Jeffswerkstatte sealant.
For the next 3 washes I apply 2 coats of Jeffswerstatte sealant, then from the 4 wash onwards I apply a coat...
If your really serious join detailingworld.
Or if it's just a casual thing stick with autoglym, shampoo, super resin polish, extra gloss protection, high definition wax.
Use them in that order and the results will be spot on also it easily available from the likes of halfords and often on...
TBH mate if you do a bit digging around you'll find that the meg 225 engine is exactly the same bore and stroke as a 182 and I know for a fact that they both share the same crank (also the rods look identical but I haven't had the part numbers confirmed yet). so really the only difference...
Not sure if your getting a bit mixed up there, but to take the supercharger kit to the next level ie more than the 240-260bhp you need to uprate the bottom end. Unless somethings changed in the last 2 weeks since I last spoke to Paul.
Pauls is currently putting out 340bhp but again he has low...
Yes mate, the majority of supercharger kits that have been done are pumping out between 240-260bhp on stock internals.
With ITB's you'll spend £2.5K on the bodies and get 200bhp then to increase that you'll probably spend a further 1K on cams getting them installed and obviously a new map to...
There is at least one Throttle Bodied Trophy and a Turbo Trophy that I know of, however if I was you I'd seriously consider a supercharger, probably RStunings as you'll get almost 260bhp with out the ballache of having to strip your engine to fit forged internals like you have to with a turbo...
My little bro bought a brand new st3 in oct last year and had it mountune'd at 1000miles it is light years ahead of a Trophy for both refinement and pace. Yes it's not as nimble as a trophy but for on the limit stability it's totally sure footed and planted.
