Yes the cheaper alternative is to go for the Skoda fabia one part number 5J08070619B9 £11.38+ Doesnt look all that great but beats paying £100's.

Unfortantley that is correct you can't fit any exchange units from renault on the sports i.e driveshafts, starter motors, alternators e.t.c

Better if it was done with the Treadlines than having to spend out on Sportster.

****Update**** Well back on the ramp today and it looks like the steering rack bolts at the back of the subframe was loose. Untighten them tightem back up again and it seems to have cured this horrible noise. I'll give it a few days fingers grossed.

I did think about the steering pump but I may have another gander tonight.

Unfortantantley not I have done my detective work CCTV don't have it in shot, no witnesses and I have checked other vehicles for any tell tale red paint on there's but nothing. Looks like it could of been a lorry due to how high the damage is.

So came back form work only to find someone has hit the 'T' no note left or anything. To say I was upset was an understatement. Looks like it was side swiped probably who someone who couldnt drive. Damage caused was rear quarter panel rear bumper, front headlight wing and bumper.

Yeah does sound like the exhaust banging on the subframe had this but was solved with some new exhaust mounts
