My favourite in the Brigsy stable is that crazy Kangoo Compact. That thing makes me laugh out loud every time I read an update, I secretly really want one... :D.
A big thank you to @MarcB for supplying me with 2 bottles of Type D. Great communication, a fair price, excellently packaged for shipping and a very quick delivery. Perfecto! Cheers Marc! :) (y)
Reading the comments on that thread reminded me why I very rarely go on the PH forums anymore. The now usual barrage of uninformed opinions and negativity, very few folk who frequent the place in more recent times have anything pleasant to say, constant bickering and oneupmanship.
Anyway. The...
Thanks again for your efforts today Marc, great to hear that BG still have their parts access.
Just a note on your last point - quoted above. BG told me exactly the same a couple of years ago; that storing the dampers, even new unused units, was a tricky thing to do. They said the best place...
I won’t bore everyone with the details, but BG found an issue with the internals of one of my spare sets which I sent for refurb, the inner shaft as I understand it which the main shaft runs in. Either a materials fault or damage from being run low on oil. Either way, it turned into a nightmare...
In all honesty, I think trying to get anywhere with Renault is going to be a waste of time. I think them disposing of their ‘heritage fleet’ of cars a couple of years ago signalled their attitude towards any legacy cars going forward. I don’t think they hold their past in any kind of importance...
I'd be interested to hear the status on shafts now, as they seem to be a fairly regular 'service' item too. My discussions with them previously revolved around major components being unavailable, rather than as you say; service items.
It’s a shame there’s not someone enthusiastic about keeping these dampers at going at Sachs - for their legacy (and our convenience). But at the end of the day, for them, as with Renault, there’s probably simply not the demand for the numbers to stack up economically for them to start remaking...
I'm in this camp. I want to enjoy the car myself as intended, it wasn't bought to be kept perfect for the next custodian, or as an investment to sell on. For me the driving experience on Sachs is a crucial part of the package, if I wanted a Clio on coilovers, or other race derived set-up, I'd...
Sachs also won’t release any of the material specifications etc either for 3rd parties to make stuff bespokely. I’ve been told that they refuse to give this kind of info to BG, which in the long run is going to make things tricky to continue to run the cars on Sachs in any sort of anger.
This has been the case for quite some time and Sachs have no interest in or intention of remanufacturing any parts. A real shame, but that’s the reality of things as these cars get older.
Watching that on-board, it just doesn't look real in places, the speed, the bumps, the commitment. It's an absolute spectacle to see such skill. Amazing stuff!
Apologies for the non-Clio content, but I've been enjoying some of this years this years IoM TT coverage on Youtube over the last couple of days. Currently on the practice stages of the event, this on-board with Davy Todd from today is nothing short of incredible!
I'm not madly into bikes...
So, what you’re after is the part number for the silver 172 Cup centre caps?
I believe this to be:
172Cup (silver): 8200244716
182 Trophy (anthracite): 8200514740
Essentially they are the same thing though so may share the same casting marks / numbers on the back. Could always just have the...
Thread here with parts numbers:

They are still available from RPD but the price makes your eyes water! They are cheaper from France (so long as you don’t spend over £130ish - to avoid the import duty charges).
I’m confused here? Is this in the right thread, 146 isn’t a 1 owner car, in fact a quick read through the history, seems it can’t stay with an owner for more than a couple of months in recent times..
