Just to add to @MarcB 's excellent answer re original springs.
There are also other aftermarket options, Eibach, Cooksport (though now also no longer available since they ceased trading) and Grams. These generally drop the car more than the original springs though.
I had also heard on the...
The last three Trophy's which have gone up on here have sold pretty quickly from what I can see. There's a steady stream of folk looking for Trophy's who frequent here looking at the For Sale section.
I bought No.407 through here back in 2018, and to be honest this was the main place I'd been...
Perhaps worth putting an ad up on here? Surprised that you haven’t done that to be fair as you’ll get a much more targeted hit than either of the places you’ve put it. Less traffic perhaps but a more genuine interest.
I personally would avoid FB marketplace to sell something like a Trophy...
Thanks for your thoughts Mark, it's heartening to find others judging cars on condition and record of upkeep as I tend to myself. I agree about the hamster wheel of leasing and finance too has changed people's perception of vehicle ownership, but hand in hand that ends up the cars becoming a...
That's a really interesting and good point there Mike, by 100k as you say, a lot of stuff will have been renewed or refreshed which makes them good to go again as it were.
So, it's Saturday morning again, having completed the weekly trip to our excellent local butcher and a quick dash round Tesco's with a trolly, it's time to put the feet up for five minutes and enjoy a nice cup of coffee. As with anyone with a passion for the automotive in many shapes and forms I...
Haha! Cheers Francis.
It certainly needs it now though after this mornings dawn run on some of my favourite slurry filled lanes...
New 'Bowland' write up coming soon to the 407 thread...
..and ready for the weekend.
It needs a clean currently, but first up some driving. Then Sunday will be set aside for some interior sprucing and then a good polish for the exterior.
I’ve got a real thing for old brochures (& magazines) got literally acres of them collected over the years. Sometimes I do feel it’s necessary to thin out the duplicates though..
I'm going to be popping this on eBay over the next few days, but thought I'd give forum members a chance to buy it first at a little bit of a discount too.
It's a nice copy of the Renaultsport range brochure from 2004-05, featuring the Clio, Megane & Clio V6 - it's the version with the fold-out...
I know what you mean. I do feel I've been a bit slow on the uptake with some of the Clio stuff too, foolish of me really when I've hoarded BMC Mini parts for years... ;)
Of course, folk can do as they like to price stuff at whatever they want, my observation is that some of that pricing is becoming somewhat optimistic when you can still source the original items elsewhere for less than half the price, or from reliable sources more reasonably.
So, who are they...
I was just about to say something similar, but Nick got there before me. Good to see a nice example get a well deserved sale.
Hope you enjoy that Elise Rich. :) (y)
I was sure I'd sold this a while ago, but just come across this 'Modern Classics' featuring copious hot Clio content.
I'll refrain from banging on about how rare good copies of this are...
Priced at £8.00 with careful P&P to be added at cost.
"Vive la Clio"
PM me if interested, cheers!
Another Saturday spent sorting through a few more things in my "library" has unearthed a couple more issues of EVO with Trophy features which I really ought to let go to a new home.
I thought I'd offer these two as a wee bundle as the issues are quite close together; Issue #128 - from March...
I've just been ruminating on this over the last couple of days...
I know us Trophy owners are a keen bunch and in some cases real sticklers for originality, but there seems to be a reoccurring theme of certain parts coming onto the market recently with some eyewatering prices attached. And I'm...
If it was me, I’d be going with the 182 Cup items, I don’t doubt in the slightest Rik Perry’s findings that when tested, the rears were very very similar.
