Haha! Just an avid collector (some would say hoarder). Not just EVO's either, all sorts of motoring literature and accoutrements amassed over the years, a lot of searching for 'perfect' copies etc. And this is before I start boring folk to death with sheds full of old rare BMC stuff relating to...
Hi all, just a little heads up that I'm having a little sort out again here at home, (once I've constructed the new BBQ we've just purchased - wish me luck! :ROFLMAO: ).
Anyway, in the next couple of days I'm hoping to put up some more of the Trophy specific EVO magazines I have here in my...
Looks like the mooted OE spec Trophy Spring set by Grams has become available, from Kam Racing:
https://www.kamracing.co.uk/grams-oem-springs-renault-clio-mk2-rs182-trophy.html
This can only be a good thing, given the rarity now of the Original Renault/Eibach items.
Well, I guess we'll have to wait and see. Given only one Trophy sale via CC so far this year, it will be interesting to watch the outcome of a car listed with no reserve.
I know what you mean Nick, the market does seem to be funny at the moment - and you'd certainly be the man in the know. (y)
I'm going to guesstimate: £10, 850 including fees...
Like buses... Another Trophy apparently 'coming soon' to CC. Trophy #489, lost out in the wilderness for a good few years, recently surfaced as a 1 owner example on 51k on information given by the seller.
Haha! Great minds etc... :D
There were some lingering shots of it in the paddock too, it looked well going up the hill, well planted with the camber on the front end.
Just dipping into this weekends hillclimb championship live feed from Prescott today and spotted a Trophy going up the hill piloted by Amy Jenkins.
Three wheelin'.. :D
Here we go Francis, dug out the pic of 'NWS' somewhere in Donegal...
As I remember, sporting a slightly crumpled front panel and bumper, those were the days, I think I re-shaped the front bodywork with an old wooden mallet and some 3x2 from the shed! I can still run through the 'incident' in...
Haha! I think I've only got one pic of it, on some back road in Donegal somewhere, it's at the early part of it's 'transition' and has a tasty dent in the front bumper from some ditch visitation somewhere in Sligo! 😂
Ah yes... the good old 4-wheel drift Francis. 😁
My 1st ever Mini, which started life as a humble 'City E' and ended up as something quite modified, I set up the chassis to 4-wheel drift literally on demand. 😂
Our 1965 example now, is a lot more standard in the chassis department, but...
Power to weight is one of the beauties of them & secrets to the performance they're able to serve up - particularly I find in the Mk1's, which were the lightest shells for various reasons. The size is also really helpful, it gives you a lot of road/track to work with. Aerodynamics really hamper...
It looks like an 'appendix K' race car to me, so in that case it'd be a 1293cc, running twin H4 SU's, probably good for circa 120-130 bhp. It'll not weigh much more than 500kg though.. 😁
I stumbled upon this vid earlier, some track day action from Brands of a delightful dice between a Classic Mini and a 197 Trackday car. A great watch, highlights for me - watching the Mini in the mirrors for the first couple of laps then the kerb bouncing towards the end! Brilliant!
Absolutely no disrespect intended to @clearglass or his #310, but having seen @NickReilly063 's car in the metal, the answer to that is; No, it's not as clean as Nick's I'm afraid...
Thread resurrection...
It's been a while! But coming soon....

#310 (again) - offered with 'no reserve'. Made £11,853 in 2022, then £9,648 at the 2nd try in late 2023.
You're certainly not the only one, I think we all go through periods of slight disenchantment with these machines - usually brought on for me by the ratio of expenditure to driving. But as you say, it only takes one good drive and all those £'s become worth it. I know at the beginning of the...
