Perhaps the bonnet release cable is broken/seized - happened to me once after the car had been stood for a while. Thankfully mine fixed itself after I did something with some Bilt Hamber Ferrosol & some salty language… 😀

I have to agree Nick, the lack of any under-bonnet pics or of other more mechanically oriented areas ( a quick peep in the arches at the Sachs etc) is a glaring omission.
