I've only had my Trophy 5 weeks or so and after a couple of tank fulls switched to BP ultimate (97) from standard 95 and must say I noticed a difference. Car is less lumpy from cold and seems to pull better through the gears. Surprisingly it also seems willing to rev to the 7200rpm redline. A...
#110 now home safe and sound! Total of £293 on MOT, parts and labour. Also filled her up (£53) and paid my road tax. £581 in ONE day! Need to lie down! Still hopefully shouldn't be any more big bills until next year I'm hoping as Sept-April use will be very limited.
Turns out both lambda sensors needed replacing, however car's emissions are now legal and I will hopefully be able to collect tomorrow morning. No idea what it'll cost though all in. Not only that but I'll need to fill her up AND pay my £235 road tax, not a good week for my stretched finances! :(
Thanks for the help! So chances are its a lambda sensor then. Will see what my mechanic says when he calls tomorrow. He had to replace a ball-joint (I had noticed the car pulling slightly to the right under heavy braking so that might explain that?) and the other point from the MOT was the...
Just got the call to say she failed primarily for exhaust emissions. Not sure what to do. Its a powerflow catback system fitted at the moment but I assumed that because there is still a cat fitted it should pass?
It could just be a faulty sensor apparently, but I'm preparing myself that I may...
For me Elephant were actually the cheapest of who I tried. Though I'm probably not that representative of owners on here in general. I'm 20, Student, 2 years NCB, good postcode, 5k miles p.a.(I wont even do that) fully comp for under £1400. I thought that was pretty good!
Look forward to seeing how your prices for damper refurbs turn out. Mine still haven't been done and car has done 37.5k. Though seeing as I will barely use the car between September and April it may be next spring before I get round to it!
Hi Jay, I take it that stuff is for removing stains as opposed to scratches? Sounds good all the same.
Had limited success with the Scratch X stuff. Scratch is less noticeable but still very much in evidence. In better news I bought some turtlewax in the BOGOF offer in Halfords and #110 has...
Cheers chaps, off to Halfords this afternoon! Incident was obviously deliberate but there was literally nothing I could have done to prevent it happening short of never taking the car out the garage :(
Didn't know T-cut was so horrible! Thanks! Will have a look for the Scratch X. The whole incident just makes me wary of parking anywhere which is a shame!
Need to vent!
A couple of days ago I drove to the gym and parked in the quiet car park (only 3-4 other cars in it) as I'm paranoid about door-dingers. I come back out to see a still almost empty car park apart from some genius who decided to park their beaten up sh!tty Honda Accord within...
Hi folks, Trophy noob here!
I have a couple of questions I would appreciate being answered if possible!
Firstly if I were to fully de-cat my Trophy would a remap be necessary? If I just keep the cat-back system I have would a remap be in any way beneficial? I run on 95 Ron purely because its...
