Cool picture! 8)
But yeah, we can all do it, in fact all hot Clio's can. The three wheeling in my avatar was done with std brakes and Pilot Exalto tyres.
At the wheels figures are the only ones that count really, as any calculation used to try and guess what the drivetrain losses are liable to be inaccurate. Unless the engine is removed from the car and dyno'd itself, then you won't ever really know what the flywheel figure is.
What did you...
Yeah he is, username hazzer. Shame he is not on here more as I would still be trying to get him to time the Trophy around Bedford! I hate the fact that it was slower than the 182 Cup!
My standard Trophy made 146 bhp/130 ft/lbs at the fly at the Janspeed rolling road day Nik organised last year - Nik made 151 bhp/132 ft/lbs with a remap and cat back exhaust iirc. I would like to think that you will clear 155 bhp/135 ft/lbs due to you having the sports cat, it will be very...
As said to the kid in the movie "You'll shoot your eye out"! :P
it's a nice idea though - and I know a few of us off this forum would love a RS spec Clio, but is there enough of a market for Renault to go into production?
Also there was a lot of talk about a turbocharged mk...
Don't get me wrong, I love my Trophy...but I also love the delivery of turbocharged cars, more so than naturally aspirated engines. The base 197 is a really good motor so if they do shoehorn the Meggy turbo lump in there it will surely be an exciting proposition.
Never used either the cruise control or the speed limiter, just never felt the need to. Don't even know how to activate them! Maybe I am missing out on something, but personally I like to be constantly checking what speed I am doing etc, rather than just letting the electronics do the work...
Damn, you beat me to posting about this!
Glad I've got my Trophy if this is the style of all limited edition Renaultsport's in the future, I just hate the garish F1 graphics they are using at the moment. Will be interesting to see what difference the Cup chassis makes to the 197's...
Glad to hear you are so happy! :D
If I wasn't getting married this year, I think I would be making some similar investments, guess I'll just have to wait, but it sounds like the Orbisoud is worth waiting for!
Welcome to the forum!
I'm pretty sure you are the first Trophy owner on the forum who has defected from the Williams, so it'll be good to hear your thoughts when you've done a few more miles.
Had you had your Williams for long? It must have been emotional parting with it! My missus drives...
The wipers operating the way they do is just pure cost costing, same set up for LHD and RHD cars, they operated the same way on my 172.
There are some photos on this forum of Trophy's being hand assmebled at the factory, worth doing a search for.
Sure did fella, although it was Toby who did my alignment. I thought there was a massive difference in handling when I got mine done, but I was fairly new to the Trophy back then, let us know if what you think when you get your done.
Yeah saw the glacier, you could fit a house down some of the crevases on the glacier, the whole landscape of the area blew my mind!
Took a cable car up to 3900m, right next to Mount Blanc, fantastic views...
My camber was adjusted using the std camber bolts, however they were machined in order to allow -2.00 degrees of camber to be dialled in. I believe H&R and Whiteline sell camber bolts so it is up to you which option you take.
As for set up, I am running -2.00 degrees on the fronts, and -1.75...
Not sure if this has been posted before, but Evo have some great videos on their website, including stuff from this years car of the year, the Megane R26 video is especially worth a look, as is the Ferrari 599 chasing the 550 through Tuscany, amazing driving. :D

Just got back from a week in Chamonix, and despite the lack of snow (we had to bus it for 30 mins a day to get to to the good stuff) it was an awesome break. Mont Blanc is spectacular, will try to get a photo up, but my memory card is fooked so it's proving hard getting the photos off it. :(
Tried to do a bit of research into this when I first got my Trophy - http://cliotrophy.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=279
Had a response from both the R'sport "Panel of experts" and Jeremy Townsend who indicated that the Trophy was supplied from new with Elf Excellium 5W-40.
I've changed my...
Sorry about your loss, scary stuff as well having an accident like that when it is totally not your fault.
As long as your sister and yourself are alright, that's the main thing.
I've always wanted a Makinen Edition myself, not a bad replacement for the Trophy!
If you do decide that you want Aurok to have a look at your suspension geometry, you'll be able to find the contact details on the website - http://www.aurok.com/
Hope you have all had a very merry christmas! :D
Just wondering if anyone else got any Trophy related presents? My missus got me a print from Evo, the cover shot of the Trophy and the M6, issue 83 "Giant Killer!" - well chuffed! \:D/
Enjoy your hols folks!
Congrats on the purchase! :D
For tyre fitters it may be worth checking for a Pirelli performance centre near you, they are supposed to use special soft tools and extra special care when fitting tyres, and don't worry they don't have to be Pirelli's...
