Just had a quick look, and I think you may be missing a small black plastic rivet, the same as the ones that are on the leading edge of the insulation. I think it is only there to keep the insualtion attached to the underside of the bonnet, but I did not try to remove mine as normally Reno's...
Following on for the recent insurance thread, I was with Bell Direct last year, and paid £686, I search around for the best quote each year and at the time this was the cheapest quote.
They sent me my renewal premium for this year and it had gone up to £720! So I did a bit of searching...
 Hope no-one was hurt, even if their pride and joy was.
Was it a good day other than the incidents? Always fancied doing Cadwell as it looks like such a challenge...
I don't understand what makes the Brembo HC discs any better than the OE discs, other than the fact that they are made by Brembo. So if it's a case that you've got to replace discs regularily due to running more aggresive pads, surely it would make more sense to go for some OE discs from GSF for...
I assume the DS2.11's are not suitable for road use as being proper race pads they will have a very high working temperature range and as such won't perform at temperatures generated by road driving.
The best technical data I've found for a range of pads so far is this one by Pagid -...
Spot on mate, I was referring to silicone based DOT 5 :)
Judging by the long pedal travel I've experienced at both trackdays I've done, I've probably boiled my fluid so I was going to change that soon during my 12k service, I might try to find the cash to replace the hoses, discs and pads at...
Good to hear you've found a set up that you are happy with, I want to do something about the Trophy's brakes, just making my mind up about what set up is best...After drving the 197 I thought that the Brembo 4-Pot set up on that was the way forward, but seeing as the Trophy's brakes can be...
There's no surround, the black bit at the bottom is just the dealers info where I got the car from, it's part of the plate. Now it would be cool if it had this forum's web addy on it! :D
A few photos from Renaultsport of my Trophy on track, and a nice little sequence I found on another website, but I don't know who took them so I can't give any credit...
 at the pic above!
Gutted to read that the dampers won't be classified as a warranty job, fooks my plan up. I just hope mine last a good deal longer than Bernard estimated...
I'll probably go to Aurok or Mark Fish to get mine rebuilt when the time comes, unless someone finds somewhere...
No don't do it! It's a great feature to have on the forum, if anything it's the other posts that people make on the forum about problems, trackdays etc that are causing the problems. If people are worried about posting problems or about the fact that their Trophy has been on track, then they...

My view on this that if the maintenance of the dampers is not in the service schedule (which as far as I am aware it's not), then I will hold Renault responsible for the replacement/service/rebuild of my dampers until the warranty has run out...Once out of warranty I will...
Questioned my local dealer about how much oil I would need to supply for a service and they quoted 5.2 litres. As I've stated before, I've used 5 litres for both of my oil changes and the level reads as max on the oil level indicator on the trip computer, and just below max on the dipstick. I...
I was dead chuffed the Trophy made it into 2 of the Evo team garages, gutted that the 205 Gti made it into three though, but then again it was truly remarkable car...for it's time!
Anyway, my list is pretty short and the figures may not be accurate but it's getting pretty late for me...
 That's harsh news about your mate with the VXR!
Blind faith is where I'm at. I'm trusting that Renault have not fooked up and forgotten that our dampers require regular servicing, and I have faith that the dampers will last as long as the std 182 dampers. I thnk the Ohlins dampers on...
In time I think the "tucked away treasure" aspect will apply to the Trophy. Providing it's in good condition and has been well looked after, a five year old Trophy with just 15k on the clock is going to command a good premium over an average miles example, just like the Williams market has...
You should go to Rentech, it'll probably be less than £166 without providing your own oil, it won't invalidate your warranty and he's a top guy who will take great care of your motor.
High quality oils are about £40 for 5 litres, maybe a bit less if you get it online and maybe a bit...
I used to use R-sport in Wimbledon, they are a good bunch of guys who know what they are doing, but in the end the labour of £65 per hour before VAT was just to much when there are specialists like Rentech who do the same job but at a fraction of the cost.
Great photos - Never seen so many Trophy's one line up! :D
What's the deal with the imposter at the end of the line in the 7th picture!?! Should have asked him to move along!
"And the best stuff you can get in the UK is Tescos 99 Octane" :D
I'll give V-power a try though as I prefer the idea of a fuel that actively cleans your engine, but if the price goes up to 10p a litre more than Tescos then I'll be going straight back.
Exepensive?!? Mine came free with my car
The Leda's are an awesome bit of kit, as you know I was very impressed by your motor at Brands, actually put the thought in my mind 'Why did I buy a Trophy when I could have got a 172/182 Cup and hand picked the seats and suspension'
