I reset the trip computer on mine this morning before I left for work, it was quite low as I took full advantage of the nice weather we had on Sunday :p
The journey to work consisted of around 20 miles on B roads and dual carriageways, then during the day I did around 20 miles driving around...
Cost will vary massively IME. Personally I'd budget anywhere £1,500 - £2,000 for a decent job.
Are you a member over on ClioSport.net? There's a member called 'gally' on there, he works for a bodyshop and he occasionally posts up some of their work, it always looks very high quality. Might be...
Mines here to stay for the foreseeable future.
As others have said, I'm not sure what else I'd swap it for, at least not without spending three or four times its value.
Nice way to make new members feel welcome.
BTW, this section is named "Other Clios", which if I'm not mistaken a Clio 172 Cup is......
Anyway, back on topic. Clio 89, I would recommend you pay a specialist a visit and get your car plugged into a diagnostics code reader. That hopefully will...
Hi Audrey,
Wow, you did well to get so many miles out of them.. I'm sure I read Harry Metcalfe of EVO had his done after just 16,000 miles!
Rather than hiring a car, I would do as hoolio has suggested and purchase some Cup dampers, it will work out a lot cheaper. Adam at Renault Wolverhampton...
Really? Didn't know that!
I thought it was limited to the first 600 people on the list.
I'll see what the weather's like on the day anyway- wouldn't mind popping along.
Just checked my PM's over on ClioSport and the price I got quoted was £78. That was from Adam at Renault Wolverhampton.
Not sure I'd spend that much myself, my second-hand one is mint condition after a polish and like I said, it was only £30.00, so quite a saving.
I have yet to fit it though...
Obviously I'm not just talking about a "major service" (i.e. belts being changed) here.
My statement was in reference to the majority of low mileage examples I've come across recently. Note, I never said all low mileage ones.
From what I've seen, the low mileage Trophy's tend to be the ones that haven't been properly looked after. Yet people are still prepared to pay a premium just because they have low miles...... crazy!
It's actually scary how quickly you can spend a couple of grand to get them running right if...
Have a look over on ClioSport.net, there's usually one or two for-sale on there. I picked mine up that way and paid £30.00 delivered.
You can still get them new from Renault, but they come in at around £70-£80.
Just saw this!
I'm the new owner of the Trophy you saw (#224).
The bodywork is actually quite good tbh, the car just needed a thorough clean/decontamination and polish (there were some bad swirls!!). The stone chips are in line with a car of its age and mileage in my opinion. It would benefit...
No mention of belts being changed or dampers being refurbished. For that alone you should probably budget at least £1200, which doesn't make it look very cheap anymore....
