Completely agree with everything in that. Still doesn't demonstrate that a 15 year old tyre is 'unsafe'. I accept that a tyre past 10 years old is past it's best, but again, doesn't mean it's unsafe, just means it's not as effective, there's a difference. Also the opening paragraph confirms...

You disagree, that's cool. But you seem to be missing the point. Of course they won't perform as well as a new / newer tyre, doesn't make them unsafe though, which I'll repeat, was the question.

I agree they'll be hard, and no I wouldn't want them on my car, but doesn't make them unsafe, which is what the question was.

Perfectly safe if the car has been stored correctly, and there's no cracks in the sidewalls or between the treads, they wouldn't fail an mot. Is it advisable, no. Are they past best, absolutely. Doesn't make them 'unsafe' though.

Just wanted to say a massive thank you to the forum shop, for such a speedy delivery and quality item! I want to keep my Trophy as original as possible, however, I love the numbered Trophy sticker that many put just below the Clio badge. It matches the side decals perfectly and I think it...

Thank you. I think it was all the money, but exactly what I’d expect to pay for a really good, genuine example with that mileage. The cambelt was changed in 2011 and 2016, so due again next year, which I’ll get a good specialist to do.

So as the new owner of No.262, I thought I would chip in. As a long term Renaultsport fan, owning my 172 Cup for quite a few years, and also a 'Full Fat' Clio 200, and a couple of 182's over the years, I've always 'flirted' with getting a 182 Trophy. I've gone from obsessing over them...

The buyer is also very happy! The car is fantastic, pictures didn’t do it justice! I can confirm there was no “giddiness” here!!;) :LOL: Just a genuine enthusiast, willing to pay good money, for a good car....

All kids have to fly the nest at some stage.... :LOL: But I’ll respectfully accept that as a no!(y):giggle:
