My dampers are now complete at Cornering Force, they've been away since June.
The main reason for this has been the fact that they no longer have their own machine shop and had trouble sourcing one to machine two new valve bodies.
Fair enough, I've not been in a desperate rush to get them...
Update...
Keith Michaels never did bother getting back to me which is just bizarre.
Now have an agreed value policy in place through Adrian Flux for £12,000 with the car coming up to 135k miles.
Like to think there's recognition of having both quarter panels replaced etc.
For sure, a bit depressing really.
For reference, I sold the M5 for £6850 on 158k miles in 2016. A painful decision but the right one at the time- they are not cheap to keep in top condition as a daily driver doing 12k a year.
Suspect the same sale today would be in the high teens easily...
I suspect I'm one of the lucky few who had this very 'two car garage' of Clio Trophy and e39 M5 between 2014 and 2016.
Can confirm it was an absolutely stonking pairing and were a combined purchase price of £12,200.
Tried again on the main number and was told I'd get a call back yesterday, fuck all.
Getting mightily pissed off with insurance companies in general, XKR is due the day after the Trophy and trying to tweak things with the renewal is way harder than it needs to be. Always spend 30 minutes on the...
Anyone tried getting in touch with Keith Michaels?
I'll try their generic number but after getting an email response from my online quote request from a specific employee I've not had any replies to my emails or been able to get through on the phone.
No complaints from them.
My fear in going for the Continentals would be the side walls turning out to be softer.
Just a pity we don't get some of the newer Michelin efforts in 16".
Any recent experience on agreed values?
Given I spent a fortune on the bodywork at the start of the year it's something I want to get in place at renewal in October.
Would it be easy enough to secure the original gator to the damper with a cable tie in the same way the powerflex kit is designed?
https://powerflexstore.co.uk/bumpstops/bumpstops/powerflex-universal-bump-stop-and-cover-kit-bumpstops-bs009k/
Not sure how effective a 'loose' gator is.
Has anyone done this with their Trophy springs? I spray painted the originals myself back in 2017 but there's a relatively local place that offers powder coating.
Trying to use the originals for as long as possible, I have a set of the eibach ones from the group buy but prefer to think of them...
I'd disagree- providing you have a good twisty road that's fairly local. Wider, less interesting roads don't bring out its true colours for me and never have.
A twisty road where you can have a riot below 70mph is all you need, and invariably no speed cameras etc. anyway.
Granted that will be...
I've found Lemforder wishbones on ECP, anyone tried these?
https://www.eurocarparts.com/p/lemforder-suspension-arm-616745375
Not sure of a reliable way to cross reference these against the original number as the ECP number is next to useless as far as I can tell.
Anyone used this particular one?

I can't really offer much input on this so apologies for digressing but...a car like this being kept off the road for 9 years is criminal.
You owe it to the car to just steal it. 😇
