It’s only a small upgrade, tiny amp, small compact sub and speaker package. But combined with the work on deadening the car to make it a nicer place to be, the sound from the audio is really nice.
Ive lost nothing from the nice induction and exhaust note. It’s just a bit quieter.
So yesterday I thought I’d finally finish up my sound deadening project and do the cabin floor.
I removed all the interior trim, seats and carpet and along the way was looking for clues to a creaking seat that I’d had for a while.
After removing the seat I’d found nothing out of the ordinary so...
Dawn raid across Essex and Suffolk at first light this morning with @MrBlonde. Over 100miles covered and ended up at First Coffee in Woodbridge.
Cold, cloudy overcast day, but took some pics anyway of her.
Modern classic right here. Ha! :D
Small but satisfying job on WZD over the last couple of days; new alloy pedals.
The existing pedals were worn and polished after 135k enthusiastic miles. I was tempted to keep the patina of the old pedals, but then I saw a lad on Facebook who had made some exact copies of the original...
My thought for what they’re worth.
If you had two identical cars side by side (mileage, condition, history) one a FF182 and the other a Trophy and you had no plans to modify either. Without question the Trophy will feel more special. It’s a slightly sharper drive, but IMO the bit that makes it...
I have PS3s as a wet/winter tyre. They're pretty good for the most part. Normally scare the life out of me for the first few drives when i go back onto them at the end of the summer after taking the stickys off lol
Haha. They’re nowhere near as bad as they look in that photo but yes they have definitely faded a little. I’d love to have the whole car painted really, but don’t have the budget for it.
Nothing much to report on WZD, still doing the daily stuff. Caught a lovely sunrise on the way to work last week so stopped to take a pic. It’s nice to finally see some sun and know that longer days and warmer weather is ahead.
With that in mind I ordered some new shoes (R888R’s) for the X3MAs...
What gets me is, what state was it in to require £6k worth of work?
Full belts, dephaser, water pump, coolant etc is approx £750. New tyres £350, discs and pads all round £250
Sachs aside, you can replace EVERY single suspension component on a 182 for less than £400 quid lol, and we all know...
Okay so guessing i'd better update this as i haven't for a while.
I had been investigating making the Clio a little bit more user friendly day to day in terms of interior comfort and sound. Both sound deadening to make the car feel a little more premium, but whilst i was at it to start...
Can either fit an OEM cat with the PMS derestriction kit which not only removes the restriction from your OEM cat but fits up to the PMS system. This is cheapest if you already have a 182 cat as the adapter is £60 plus getting it welded on. Failing that, the cheapest new cat you'll get to fit...
Not much to report at present, got some bits in the pipeline to upgrade the audio in the car to make it better day to day.
So just some pics of the old girl doing her daily duties.
Personally wouldn't bother, i didn't, its not like the system is holding a huge amount of pressure anyway.
You can test the resistance on the current injectors, they should be between 14/14.5ohms
They're cheap and easy to change, id personally just fit a full set of 4. ( Circa £135 a set of Genuine Marelli)
Fuel rail crash shield off, carefully remove the fuel line on the left (take care not to damage/lose either of the 2 o rings) unbolt fuel rail.
The injectors will be tight so will...
So it turns out the chaps driveway is actually the editor of EVO mag as I opened my subscription to find this. ?
He’s always got a nice car out there and I never thought much of it... now I know why. ??
