All your statements are correct! Aux belt due at 36k or 5 years (although there is some argument that this service is due every 3 years...), cambelt due at 72k or 5 years. If your aux belt was changed at 36k in July 2007, it won't be due for a change again until 72k or July 2010.

I think this seal can fail in a number of ways! I've seen pics on the forum of people who have oil seemingly coming up from the head studs, but mine is leaking a trace amount of oil at the rear of the engine on the drivers side where the cam cover meets the head, and along the seal path under...

I've just spoken the the mechanic at the garage and in order to replace the cam cover seal the cambelt is removed. Therefore you have a choice to put the old cambelt back on and hope it doesn't fail or put a new belt on there and hope that the assembly doesn't have to be taken apart for another...

The top of the cam cover housing has to be removed to re-seal the cam cover...but I'm not sure what effect this has on the cambelt assembly itself. IIRC the mechanic said to me that the cambelt would actually be removed from the vehicle during the work and therefore they suggested that I should...

I'm going out mid-week this trip, from 2nd until 4th September. The Yoko's are also supposed to be pretty good in the wet...but experience tells me otherwise! It's not that they are dangerous, but compared to the PE2 they are a long way off in terms of wet weather performance.

I've just fitted a set of Yokohama Parada Spec 2 for my trip to the 'Ring in September. IMO they are a much better track tyre than the PE2, more outright grip and less side wall flex. Since my last post, the noise has now gone completely, so I may never find out what the noise was with mine!

Bit of an update. Although I have not actually done anything to cure the creaking other than removing my spare wheel from inside the boot...the creaking has ceased!?!? It still occurs, but only when the chassis is really flexing (low speed cornering on inclines) and the sound is much less...

That's the thing, oversteer does not seem to be a problem, the backs bizarrely seem relatively planted, but with a bit of lock on and a hefty bit of throttle the fronts just wash out, much more than the PE2's would...so you just have to be a bit more sensible in the wet, which is no bad thing...
