Great thread! Pics of the cars on the production line are excellent.
The French did get the Williams, seems strange that they did not get the Trophy as well...
There really should not be any difference between the two, perhaps it is down to mileage and how run in the engine is? What's the mileage on the two cars?
Really looking forward to reading their comparison between the Trophy and the 197 when it comes out, hopefully they will have a Williams and a few other hot hatch legends in the test as well.
What will be interesting will be if (or should it be when?) R'sport will do a Cup and maybe even a...
Coming to my Trophy from a 172, I still can't believe how much faster I can attack corners, like yourself I had to re-learn how to tackle my favourite corners, much higher entry speed and getting on the throttle much earlier.
I find things can get a bit scary over large crests whilst...
They'll be fine for winter, I only had problems when I was trying to push too hard in the wet. 195/45's aren't the std size for the Trophy rims though, they will be stretched over the rim more than the 205/45's that the Trophy is supplied on, which will give you less of of a footprint on the...
Can't really add much info to your spredsheet myself, I am pretty sure they are Z speed rated, and there is loads of other techinical info on the Kumho website but no data that you have headers for on the spreadsheet.
It says on the Peter Lloyd Rallying website that this price does include...
Which Yoko's are they? Am probably going to get the Parada Spec 2's when I need new tyres, if they are the same as your Yoko's I would be interested to hear what you think when you have changed over.
Price seems spot on to me, shame that you are having to think about selling it!
Don't think there is anything wrong with piling the miles onto the Trophy myself, and as long as you enjoy driving it then surely that is doing justice to the car?
320d just won't be as much fun on a trackday...
Same here, somehow we have got to find out what the Swiss #49 plaque looks like, would have to laugh if he had 049/500!
You've probably already tried this, but if you haven't see if you can get in contact with the previous owner and see if you can work out from them if there is...
Agreed, it may be pricey but it is definately the best IK on the market. Only thing stopping me buying one of these is there is no cold feed to the airbox, it just takes in air from the gap between the battery and headlight. Trying to work out if this is good enough or how you could mount a cold...
I reckon you should be able to get £12k or over as well, just be patient and wait for the right buyer. A few Trophy's have been sold cheaper, but these were probably people after a quick sale.
Hope the viewing goes well mate, you found a Cooper S works yet?
Thanks for the replies guys! :D
Don't know why, but I would only consider running a second set of 16" Turini's as trackday wheels - keep the same handling characteristics, looks etc - and I can't afford a second set right now, which is why I am thinking of having a set of tyres to change to...
So Oliie's post about trackday rims and tyres got me thinking that I should probably do the same thing and get a set of trackday tyres to stop me killing a set of road tyres every other trackday. The tyres that I have read the most about on this forum are the Kumho V70A's, and I just want to see...
Old Focus RS for me every time! It's the only other fwd car that I would consider changing the Trophy for. It is very agressive, low volume and looks great, just like the Trophy! New ST is just a bit too safe for me, and then there is the size and weight of it, reckon throwing the Trophy around...
I got my mats from Autostyle, worked out at £60 for basic mats with heel pads and embroidery. Decided not to use the fixing system as like with MickD's old ones, they broke on my last mats, but the mats are well shaped so I have no problems with them being in the wrong place.
Just had another look at this pic, and the 10mm drop really does the the job in terms of improving the stance of the Trophy. Have always though that the Trophy does sit very high, but would never have considered lowering the car and risk ruining the handling just to improve the looks. However as...
Hello mate!
Camber bolt failure is not a concern for me anymore, the guys who sorted the camber on my car were adamant that the std bolts would be fine. I am only running -2.00 degrees on the front, which is not actually that extreme, the rears were left alone as they came from the factory...
