I used them for 6 months and they're perfectly fine for every day driving. Bit softer and more comfortable over speed humps and bumps, not as sharp obviously but no problems in my opinion.

There is a chance that the caps on the bottom of the reservoir have cracked and the gas has escaped from the shock. You shouldnt have to lubricate anything in the area you say. You can check this by undoing the valve cap on the bottom of the reservoir cap and pushing a standard tyre pressure...

Just to let you know steve, i've had the exact same problem so you're not on you're own, and mine are in the post back to them as i type! The problem has been out of Ben's hands, but has come up with his own solution to try and stop this problem from Sach's dodgy part!
