The original 'Tracker' from when i had mine fitted a few years back was the top of the class because as well as GPS it has an other radio transmitter that puts out another frequency to allow it to be located when underground or in a building/container. It may be the only one linked to the Police...
I used them for 6 months and they're perfectly fine for every day driving. Bit softer and more comfortable over speed humps and bumps, not as sharp obviously but no problems in my opinion.
Rather annoying that, mine went back twice. Very fine cracks in the alloy run from the centre where the valve is, outwards. In the end BG developed their own design of valve cap which has a double seal on it and a different valve. According to Ben @ BG just a handful every hundred is effected...
There is a chance that the caps on the bottom of the reservoir have cracked and the gas has escaped from the shock. You shouldnt have to lubricate anything in the area you say. You can check this by undoing the valve cap on the bottom of the reservoir cap and pushing a standard tyre pressure...
Hey buddy, yeah that's the reason for selling, bought a smart to make things easier to get up London in adverse weather, nights, more miles covered than the small motorbike. And less back ache! Be sad to see her go but time to move onwards.
Hi there,
The five year interval will be up on the 29/4/14, the belts have currently covered 26,000 miles. I had them changed early just after I got the car just in case.
Many Thanks, dave.
Clio 182 Trophy No. 108
After 4 years of ownership I am reluctantly selling my much loved Trophy. It has received nothing but the best treatment in its life, and is a truly superb example of the car. I have had to purchase a smart fortwo to get me around the streets of London, and the Clio...
Hi there, do you have a passenger side front wheel arch liner, the forward section not the upper section? I can collect, also a non damaged front splitter? Many Thanks, dave.
Yeah that's it mate, when i pop out to the garage i'll take a pic of the new caps and put it up. Has a new type valve fitted. Pain in the buttocks eh. However, i've fitted a set of 182 cup dampers, and they are perfectly fine, so if you need the car, get them. I'm leaving them on there for the...
Sam did you not read my posts!? lol, If it's the gas caps at fault again then yes he will do it free. Don't know why mine lost gas for a second time but charged me just £150 to replace the old design caps for his new ones. He said the Sachs rep was down just a few weeks ago and he showed him...
Well he was a good lad. After checking the damper over with still no idea how it lost pressure, he fitted the new cap, don't think both sides have been replaced as there wasn't anything wrong with that one. 50% off labour and parts, plus postage it's cost me £150. From memory a standard refurb...
So it turns out my failed damper was not due to a cracked valve cap. He's pressurized it and no gas is escaping. Joy. So christ knows how that's happened and Ben is rather confused. So i'm having the new design of cap fitted to that one, re-gassed and bled and tested against the other damper and...
Just to let you know steve, i've had the exact same problem so you're not on you're own, and mine are in the post back to them as i type! The problem has been out of Ben's hands, but has come up with his own solution to try and stop this problem from Sach's dodgy part!
Nah the noises are getting on my nerves, the pads are squeeking too. The springs are built in to the pads but the shims i've never had, have to take a trip to Renault. cheers chaps.
aaaaaah, my clio had ds2500s fitted when a bought it 4 yrs ago, so i've never seen those shims before.
What i mean is not that the car's sat for a long time, but if i reverse and apply the brakes i'll get a clonk where the pad has shifted upwards and hit into the calliper. Then when i drive...
My Brembo's and DS2500's were old and tired and I my driving means i don't need uprated items, so i went for Mintex front discs and pads, Genuine renault rear discs and Mintex pads. When i fitted the pads into the front caliper i noticed the pads were a mil too small to fit snug in the gap. Sure...
The problem with Mark is that yes he will do general servicing, but when he's busy with the motorsport season, he's BUSY! But you're right, he's work is superb, and knowledge is unbelievable, and he's a genuinely nice person. In fact this time of year is probably ideal to contact him!
I think you'll struggle to find a specialist anywhere near Essex. I haven't found one in 3 years of ownership. I use a chap up the road from me for everything i don't do and he's got me out of bother on many an occasion. He has a friend who works at a Renault dealership and conveniently comes...
I bought these with the intention of fitting track day tyres or winter tyres, but instead they've sat in the garage for 3 years! They are chipped, scuffed, with plenty of marks and will need refurbishing to look any good, but structurally sound. The tyres are all different and need replacing...
Bin the Sach's rears and get Koni adjustables at the least if you're gona put it on track. The rear end will be trying to lift off otherwise. I have a set of 5 15" OZs fitted to the old Clio Sport if you're interested? Perfect offset for the Clio Trophy.
PSH!!!! That's exactly what i've done Jon, can't be doing with the ag for the near future. Fitted a set of the cup dampers - £132 from ktec and they're really quite nice for normal driving, bit softer but only a touch, makes things more comfortable! I'll get the Sachs repaired and leave them in...
Just a note, I have the Ktec top mounts for 2 years now, recently removed them and they're still in top nick I would recommend. What i would say is that if you have hard pads and grooved/drilled discs, the noise transfer into the cabin when braking is horrendous! I soon got fed up with it and...
